Angel+Island+is+located+in+San+Francisco+Bay+with+amazing+views+of+the+Golden+Gate+Bridge%2c+Marin+County+and+San+Francisco%2e+There+are+9+environmental+campsites+on+the+island+that+accomodate+8+campers+per+site%2e+You+can+get+to+the+island+via+ferry+from+San+Francisco%2c+Tiburon+or+Oakland%2fAlameda%2e+There+are+some+paved+and+mountain+bike+trails%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a
We+have+taken+our+Cub+Scout+pack+to+Angel+Island+every+year%2e++It+is+a+fun+day+trip+to+catch+the+ferry+from+Jack+London+Square+in+Oakland%2e++The+cubs+can+get+about+half%2dway+around+the+island%2e++There+is+a+paved+road+ringing+the+island%2e++The+scenery+is+fantastic+in+most+directions%2e++It+was+an+immigration+station+similar+to+Ellis+Island%2e++The+ferries+easily+accomodate+bicycles%2e++One+of+these+days%2c+it+will+make+a+great+bike+trip%2e%0d%0a
There+is+an+overnight+program+run+by+the+Angel+Island+Association+that+allows+Scouts+to+participate+in+an+Environmental+Living+Program%2e++This+includes+a+day%2dlong+program+on+the+island+representing+a+day+in+the+life+of+a+Civil+War+era+soldier+on+the+Island%2e++This+also+includes+an+evening+hike+to+the+top+of+the+island+for+a+360+degree+view+of+the+SF+Bay%2e%2e%2eI%27ve+lead+two+groups+on+this+program%2c+working+on+a+third%2e++I%27ve+done+this+as+a+Webelos+overnighter%2e%2e%2ethis+is+a+perfect+trip+for+this+age+group%2e%2e%2emix+in+a+couple+of+Boy+Scouts+for+leadership%2c+and+you+have+a+great+trip%21+%0d%0a
