This+is+the+original+camp+on+the+property%2c+built+in+1964%2e+It+provides+the+very+best+in+weeklong+%22outing%22+for+325+Scouts+and+leaders+per+week+from+June+through+the+middle+of+August%2e+Scouts+camp+in+tents+which+are+provided%2c+clustered+in+groups+that+accommodate+the+Scouts+from+their+home+%22troop%22%2e+The+dining+hall+will+accommodate+450+hungry+campers+and+staff+for+each+meal%2e+Other+features+include+a+large+heated+swimming+pool%2c+archery+and+rifle+ranges%2c+horses%2c+and+all+the+Scouting+skills+in+nature%2c+Scoutcraft%2c+and+handicrafts%2e+A+large+lake+with+canoeing+and+boating+rounds+out+the+camp%2e+This+is+Scouting+at+its+best%2e+%0d%0a

I+was+a+member+of+RMCB%2d26%2c+part+of+the+SeaBee%27s+efforts+to+construct+the+facilities+at+PVSR+in+1964%2e+Being+a+heavy+equipment+operator%2c+I+helped+in+building+the+dam+for+the+lake%2c+and+some+of+the+original+7+to+8+miles%28I+believe%29+of+roads+on+the+ranch%2e+The+earth+used+to+make+the+dam+was+taken+from+what+would+become+the+bottom++of+the+lake+once+it+was+flooded%2e+If+I+remember+correctly%2c+the+original+water+tank+for+the+ranch+water+system+was+a+huge%28something+on+the+order+of+100%2c000+gal%2e%29+glass%2dlined+brewing+tank+donated+by+Coors+Brewery%2e+I+know+that+all+of+us+who+participated+in+this+had+a+wonderful+time+and+carry+fond+memories+of+the+beauty+of+the+area%2e+I+have+wanted+to+return+for+a+visit+ever+since%2c+and+will+hopefully+make+it+this+year%2e%0d%0aNorman+D%2e+Crow%0d%0a

We+attended+week+3+this+year%2e++Great+experience%2e++Excellent+facilities+%28lodge+for+every+area+and+a+%241%2b+Million+shooting+facility%29%2e++Older+staff+made+scouts+complete+requirements+%2d%2d+for+the+most+part%2e++Staff+seemed+to+WANT+to+be+there%2e++The+attitude+was+%22What+can+we+do+to+help+you%3f%22++Our+host+%28also+known+by+some+caps+as+commissioner%29+kept+contact+everyday+and+connected+with+our+scotus%2e++Check+in+and+out+were+painless%2e++Dehydration+and+altitude+were+our+main+issue%2e++%0d%0aKent+Wolfe%0d%0aSM+T12%2c+Lincoln%2c+NE%0d%0a

We+went+to+Camp+Cris+Dobbins+this+year%2e+Gorgeous+camp+with+beautiful+sunsets%2c+balmy+weather%2e+It%27s+easy+to+see+why+they+call+it+Peaceful+Valley%2e+The+staff+were+absolutely+outstanding+%2d+seasoned%2c+knew+their+topics+well+and+you+could+tell+they+had+a+real+passion+for+scouting+and+sharing+their+knowledge%2e+They+were+helpful%2c+and+really+bent+over+backwards+to+meet+everyone%27+needs%2e+The+food+is+ok+%2d+some+meals+great%2c+some+not+so+much+but+the+boys+were+never+hungry+and+always+had+seconds+and+even+thirds+when+they+wanted+them%2e+Serving+sizes+were+very+generous%2e+The+scheduling+is+really+nice+here+%2d+the+archery%2c+shooting%2c+horseback%2c+and+some+of+the+other+more+complex+courses+are+in+2+hour+blocks%2e+All+of+our+kids+came+back+with+COMPLETE+merit+badges%2e+There+is+ample+time+between+meals%2c+and+between+classes+to+allow+the+boys+to+get+where+they+need+to+go%2e+We+never+felt+rushed+or+pressured+and+the+pace+was+very+relaxed%2e+There+are+beautiful+hiking+trails+in+this+camp%2c+and+the+leaders+got+to+explore+while+the+kids+were+busy%2e+Our+SM+has+been+to+11+different+camps+in+14+years+and+says+this+is+by+far+the+best+he+has+ever+been+to%21+Most+of+the+merit+badge+classes+were+high+quality%2c+only+a+few+disappointed+%2d+nuc+sci+for+instance%2e+I+would+not+hesitate+to+go+here+again%2e+For+the+older+scouts+in+your+troop%2c+Camp+Deitler+is+on+the+PV+scout+ranch+as+well+and+offers+a+program+for+them+too%21%0d%0a
