We+absolutely+have+a+great+time+when+we+go+to+Tanah+Keetah%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a

I+was+in+Tanah+Keeta+in+the+60%27s%2e%2e%2eone+of+the+MOST+difficult+times+I+have+ever+weathered%2e++Thank+heavens+I+was+young%2c+and+now+living+in+Alaska%2c+%27camp%27+is+a+thrill+and+delightful%2e++Everything+evolves%2c+and+I+am+sure+that+this+camp+now+treats+those+without+troop+support+with+kindness+and+adventure%2e++The+surroundings+are+delightful%2c+and+the+activities+have+evolved%21%21%21++I+would+love+to+revisit%2c+but+at+53%2c+am+a+tad+old%21%0d%0a%0d%0a

2004+%2d+This+camp+is+old%2c+not+well+cared+for%2c+staff+is+over+confident%2c+boring%2c+with+not+a+lot+to+offer%2e++Food+was+bad%2e++It%92s+too+bad+to+because+the+property+itself+has+a+lot+of+potential%2e++It%92s+a+big+camp%2c+has+wonderful+wilderness+areas+and+is+Florida+at+its+best%2e++The+camp+sites+are+wonderful%2e++The+dining+hall+is+sub+par%2c+food+is+yucky%2c+restrooms+bad%2e++Our+son+attended+here+and+Flaming+Arrow%2c+he%92ll+gladly+return+to+Flaming+Arrow%2c+has+no+desire+to+return+to+Tanah+Keeta%2e++He%92s+use+to+Florida%92s+heat+in+July+and+the+bugs+so+that%92s+not+a+factor%2c+it+has+everything+to+do+with+staff%2c+things+to+do%2c+food+and+fun%2e++++%0d%0a%0d%0aTanah+Keeta+is+a+wonderful+resource+being+under+utilized+and+not+cared+for+by+Gulfstream+Council%21%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a

I+was+shocked+to+read+the+July+31st%2c+2004+comment%2e++Tanah+Keeta+has+an+award+winning+staff+and+facility+ranking+in+the+top+percentile+of+Scout+Camps+in+the+Southeast+United+States%2e++This+past+summer%2c+the+camp+was+awarded+a+flawless+score+on+their+annual+camp+inspection%2e++There+are+many+great+staffs+around+the+country%2c+but+few+even+rival+the+customer+service+oriented%2c+attentive+and+example+setting+environment+that+Tanah+Keeta+provides%2e++Over+the+past+two+years%2c+Tanah+Keeta+has+progressed+in+the+following+areas%3a+1%2e+renovated+their+dining+hall%2c+adding+brand+new+industrial+kitchen+equipment+and+top+of+the+line+air+conditioning%2e+2%2e+built+four+new+program+and+meeting+centers%2e+3%2e+added+new+campsite+space+along+with+brand+new+tents+and+cots%2e+4%2e+outfitted+eight+sites+with+power%2c+running+hot%2fcold+water+and+lights+and+soon+will+finsih+those+remaining%2e+5%2e+upgraded+housing+quarters%2e+6%2e+purchased+brand+new+maintenance+vehicles+and+equipment%2e++If+that+is+not+a+Scouting+organization+on+the+move+and+on+the+rise%2c+I+do+not+know+what+is%2e++My+advice+is+that+if+you+and+your+boys+want+a+fun+and+advancement+filled+experience+in+a+thematic+and+Scoutlike+atmosphere%2c+then+Tanah+Keeta+is+exactly+what+you+are+looking+for%2e++I+Love+That+Place%21%0d%0a

My+son+attended+Tanah+Keeta+last+summer+for+the+first+time%2e++He+flew+all+the+way+from+New+Jersey%2e++He+enjoyed+it+so+much+he+plans+to+attend+this+summer+for+three+weeks%2e++There+are+a+lot+of+activities%2c+the+staff+is+wonderful%2c+the+camp+went+out+of+their+way+to+help+us+with+any+questions+or+concerns%2e++My+son+has+attended+camps+in+New+Jersey+and+Pennsylvania+and+he+said+the+staff+was+the+best+at+Tanah+Keeta%2e++Also%2c+I+want+to+thank+everyone+there+for+making+this+such+a+great+summer%2e+++%0d%0a

Never+thought+about+commenting+on+our+%22HOME%22+camp+before%2e++Just+got+back+from+Daniel+Boone+and+had+a+great+experience%2e++As+I+was+submitting+my+comments%2c+all+positive%2c+I+kept+thinking+about+how+you+have+to+leave+home+every+once+in+awhile+to+realize+how+great+you+have+it%2e++The+staff+at+Tanah+Keeta+%28TK%29is+as+good+and+probably+better+than+most%2e++The+facilities+are+well+maintained+and+provide+for+comforts+like+%22hot%22+%28not+warm%29+showers+in+the+individual+campsites%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aWith+a+brand+new+dining+hall+coming+real+soon+TK+is+a+camp+that+constantly+just+keeps+getting+better%2e++The+people+and+staff+are+already+the+best%21++Everyone+needs+to+experience+this+wonderful+facility%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aBrian+Morgan%0d%0aTroop+105%0d%0a

We+just+recently+relocated+to+South+Florida+after+being+gone+for+several+years%2e+Today%2c+with+two+children+of+may+own%2c+I+wondered+how+Camp+TK+is+doing%3f+My+daughter+is+just+getting+into+brownies+and+my+son+is+only+four%2e+I+attended+Camp+TK+in+the+summer+of+1978%2e+That+one+summer+I+had+a+great+time%2e+Some+of+the+skills+I+learned+there+have+stayed+with+me+and+aided+me+in+my+twenty+years+of+military+service%2c+serving+in+the+US+Army+and+US+Air+Force+in+both+enlisted+and+officer+ranks%2e+The+value+systems+learned+at+Camp+TK+have+stayed+with+me+all+these+years%2e+I+just+hope+and+pray+that+my+children+are+able+to+share+the+experiences+with+their+children+that+I+share+with+them+now+about+scouting%2e+++%0d%0a

Tanah+Keeta+is+the+best+camp+ever%21%21%21+Anyone+who+disagrees+is+NUTS%2e+It+has+so+much+to+offer+kids+in+a+learning+expeirience+way%2e+Scouts+come+and+they+go+but+what+really+matters+is+that+they+know+that+Tanah+Keeta+is+thier+second+home%2e+Always+wanting+to+come+back%2e%0d%0a

My+two+son%27s%2c+both+Eagle+Scouts+now%2c+have+been+going+to+Camp+Tanah+Keeta+for+several+summer+camps+now%2e+They+relished+the+camp+with+a+lot+of+zeal%2e+They+became+friends+with+staff+members+and+found+help%2c+fellowship+and+friendship+all+the+way+through%2e++Each+year+you+could+see+camp+improvements%2c+new+camp+themes+to+keep+it+fresh%2e+TK+goes+a+step+further+than+other+camps+that+I+have+been+to+by+planning+alot+of+extra+activities+that+basically+keep+the+scout+energy+focused+all+through+the+waking+hours%2e+Some+of+my+youngest+scouts+started+out+home+sick%2c+but+in+the+end+many+wanted+more%21+Now+that%27s+a+way+to+run+a+camp%2e+If+you+want+fun%2c+advancement+opportunities%2c+friendship%2c+and+many+extra+activities%2c+then+TK+is+the+camp+for+you%2e++I+made+the+mistake+of+taking+my+campers+to+a+different+camp+last+year%2e++All+I+heard+about+is+the+difference+between+Flaming+Arrow+and+TK%2e++TK+came+out+the+winner+with+my+scouts%2e+They+loved+the+extra+activities+and+the+ability+to+earn+more+merit+badges+on+their+free+time%2e++I+have+been+blessed+as+scoutmaster+for+the+last+four+years%2e+We+have+12+Eagle+Scouts+that+attended+camp+here%2e+That%27s+how+important+TK+was+to+our+Scouts%2c+including+my+own+sons%2e%0d%0a

Sorry+Dec+5th+2004+posting+but+the+posting+on+July+31%2c+2004+is+pretty+accurate+even+for+2007%2e+Who+is+ranking+your+camp%3f++Your+own+staff%3f%0d%0aI+don%27t+know+how+you+get+an+award%2e%0d%0aWhere+were+the+new+buildings%2e++For+the+camp+staff%3f++That+doesn%27t+help+the+campers%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aI+visited+in+July+2007%2e++The+food+was+ok+for+camp+food+I+would+not+call+it+very+good+by+any+stretch+of+the+imagination%2e++There+were+seconds+for+the+second+seating%2e++The+dining+hall+was+hot+most+of+the+time+so+I+don%27t+know+what+you+paid+for+an+upgrade+on+the+AC+but+it+wasn%27t+worth+the+money%2e++The+camp+staff+starts+singing+an+forces+the+scouts+to+sing+before+they+are+finished+with+eating%2e++I+like+the+singing+but+let+us+eat+first%21++Some+of+the+local+Troops+were+rather+wild+staying+up+all+night+with+music+partying%2e++It+was+hot+outside%2e+Every+day+it+was+at+least+99+degrees+and+very+dusty%2e++But+I+live+in+Florida+and+I+am+accustom+to+the+heat%2e++Most+the+of+the+trails+%28roads%29+are+sugar+sand+and+hard+to+walk+in%2e++Distance+for+some+scouts+to+go+from+rifle+to+canoeing+is+almost+2+miles%2e++Very+far%21++++I+disagree+with+the+idea+that+the+bathrooms+are+new%2e++They+are+all+dated%2e++They+need+to+be+refurbished+%28torn+down+and+rebuilt%29+so+that+scouts+and+adults+can+use+the+bathrooms+at+the+same+time%2e++The+boat+for+water+skiing+was+broken+most+of+the+time%2e+So+many+of+the+scouts+did+not+finish+the+watersking+MB%2e+When+the+boat+did+work+it+hardly+has+enough+power+to+pull+one+scout+up+out+of+the+water%2e++One+of+the+visiting+Scoutmasters+drove+all+the+way+back+home+80+miles+and+brought+his+own+boat+so+that+his+Troop+could+have+a+reliable+boat+to+use+for+skiing%2e++I+don%27t+think+he+was+reimbursed+for+the+gas+he+used+by+the+camp%2e++The+equipment+for+SCUBA+was+mostly+operational%2e++The+family+night+dinner+was+appalling+for+the+families+to+spend+that+much+on+a+hamburger%2e++Don%27t+buy+the+family+dinner%2e++Just+go+see+the+show%2e++Which+was+ok%2e++The+screen+is+just+a+sheet+so+you+can+hardly+see+the+image+on+the+sheet%2e++The+movie+night+in+the+pool+was+fun%2e++But+again+it+was+hard+to+see+on+just+a+sheet%2e++There+were+some+staff+members+that+were+very+good+an+others+that+were+young+and+not+very+helpful%2e++Our+staff+advisor+was+no+help+at+all+and+we+had+to+find+out+everything+on+our+own%2e++Most+of+the+adult+training+started+with+a+schedule+at+the+beginning+of+the+week+but+changed+on+a+daily+basis+and+was+canceled+many+time+at+the+last+minute+after+we+arrived+where+it+was+to+start%2e++On+the+plus+side+the+rifle+range+was+new+and+the+instructor+was+excellent+an+older+gentleman+that+spent+time+with+each+scout+to+get+them+qualified%2e++COPE+was+well+run%2e++Most+of+the+staff+for+the+other+activities+was+just+ok%2e++My+hats+off+to+the+nurse+she+was+very+good+to+the+boys+that+got+dehydrated+and+help+them+recover%2e++Sorry+but+I+can%27t+say+I+would+ever+return%2e++Not+until+they+get+upgraded+bathroom+facilities%2e+++SM%0d%0a

don%27t+know+about+how+the+summer+camp+runs%2c+althought+member+of+my+pack+do+work+there+and+from+knowing+them%2e%2e%2eit+must+be+good%2e%0d%0aThe+bathrooms+and+dining+hall+are+acceptable%2e%0d%0aWe+have+camped+out+there+for+the+last+few+years%2e+The+camp+sites+are+great%2c+some+are+new+some+are+old%2e%2e%2ebut+a+great+time+is+always+had%2e+As+for+the+trail+comment%2c+yes+they+are+sand%2c+but+this+is+Fl%2e%2e%2eWhat+do+you+expect%3f+%0d%0aPack+222+loves+TK%0d%0a

I+have+been+to+Woodruff%2c+Raven+Knob%2c+Skymont%2c+Rainey+Mountain%2c+Tanah+Keeta%2c+and+Daniel+Boone%2e+Tanah+Keeta+is+the+worst%2e%0d%0aIt+is+a+beautiful+piece+of+property+but+is+horribly+underfunded+and+mismanaged%2e%0d%0aStaff+does+their+best%2e%0d%0a

With+my+10+yrs+experience+with+Tanah+Keeta%2c+I++have+heard+it+all%2e%2e%2e+from+the+sugar+sand+to+the+bathrooms%2e+Most+of+these+complaints+are+from+the+parents+not+the+scouts%2e+Funny+if+you+ask+a+scout+about+Tanah+Keeta+he+will+probubly+say+%2c%22wow%21+I+had+a+blast%2e%22+The+cubscout+campouts+like+spookeree+and+spring+family+are+awesome+and+have+always+been%2c+with+their+great+themes+and+scout+spirit%2e+Yes+Tanah+Keeta+can+use+some+improvements+like+new+bathrooms+and+a+paved+entrance+road+just+like+any+campout+that+has+been+there+for+years%2e+It+just+takes+time+and+money%2e+++%0d%0a%0d%0aI+have+experienced+Tanah+Keeta+at+it+best%2c+from++tornado+warnings+to+crazy+rain+storms%2e+In+each+of+these+events%2c+the+staff+and+volunteers+have+had+a+great+attitude+and+keep+the+scout+spirit+alive+to+make+sure+the+kids+walked+away+with+smiles+on+their+faces%2e+This+is+what+keeps+me+coming+every+year%2e+Even+if+I+have+to+tread+through+sugar+sand+it+is+well+worth+the+experience+to+see+my+kids+happy%2e+It+is+all+about+the+kids%21%0d%0a
