Our troop has camped in & near Shiloh (Battlefield Camp Ground). You can camp in the Park IF you are doing a service project and make arrangements in advance. We've done several. They have a ranger who works with Scouts, and is terrific. Shilod has a terrific program of hiking medals.

There are several BSA National Historic Hikes available. Each one has several awards and is a valuable learning experience. They range in length from 3 miles to 20 miles. They cover military history, battle history, artillery, environment, and compass work. Excellent for hiking merit badge, orienteering and education.
