Camp Eastman is located in western Illinois between the cities of Nauvoo and Hamilton on the eastern bank of the Mississippi River. Among it facilities are 11 campsites, a dining hall, rifle and archery ranges, a swimming pool and water front on the Mississippi River, which provides facilities for sailing, canoeing, water-skiing and motor boating.

good staff; cohesive; OA lodge is a little exclusive on call-out night (don't expect to be invited to help in any way); responsive camp director; compact camp, but not too small; lots of potential resources for expanding program. Good camp.

needs to have someone who can better monitor medications. And understand meds. This summer one scout was not allowed to take meds and another scout was never reminded that he needed to take meds.

Camp Eastman has a great staff every year. The OA lodge however, is not very responsible, and sometimes hinders the summer camp experience. The only really outstanding feature, besides the summer camp staff, is a brand new copes course. I was told that the high course will be completed for the summer of 2001. It also has direct access to the Mississippi River.

Someone+mentioned+that+Eastman+is+the+only+camp+within+50+miles+of+Nauvoo%2e%2e%2e+which+there+is+actually+another+camp+in+the+same+council+only+20+miles+south++of+Eastman+making+it+only+30+miles+South+of+Nauvoo%2e+Both+camps+are+in+the+same+council+so+they+have+the+same+excellent+staff+every+year%2e+Saukenauk+does+not+run+the+Silver+Tomahawk+Mic%2dO%2dSay+program+but+instead+runs+a+separate+excellent+Order+of+the+Arrow+program%2e%0d%0a
