The+camp+occupies+521+acres%2e+Located+near+%22Scout+Pond%22+%28more+than+10+acres%29+and+offers+for+swimming%2c+boating+and+canoeing%2c+tent+camp+sites%2c+Adirondack+%28lean%2dto%29+shelters+and+winter+cabins+for+overnight+use+and+family+camping%2c+an+activity+field+for+athletics+and+camporess%2c+boats+and%2for+canoes+for+overnight+groups%2c+a+summer+camp+dining+hall%2c+patrol+cooking+for+Boy+Scouts%2c+and+extended+Cub+Scout+camping%2e+This+camp+is+over+60+years+old%2e+It+has+a+Scout+Pond%2c+with+canoes%2c+sailboats%2c+rowboats+and+full+waterfront+program+to+earn+badges%2e+The+trading+post+is+only+open+during+the+summer+program%2e+It+cost+%2425+per+night+to+rent+a+camp+site+or+a+cabin+in+the+off+season%2e+Their+Boy+Scout+summer+camp+program+cost+was+%24150+with+early+registration+and+%24170+after+May+1st%2e%0d%0a

I%27d+been+to+Chesterfield+several+years+ago+when+I+was+SA+in+a+troop%2e++Now+I%27m+serving+as+MC+in+another+troop+and+I+finally+convinced+everyone+we+should+look+at+out%2dof%2dcouncil+camps%2e++Well%2c+the+first+one+we+all+%28boys+and+adults%29+agreed+on+was+Chesterfield%2c+so+we+did+a+spring+campout+in+their+lean%2dtos%2e++Boys+has+a+ball%21++Got+a+look+at+the+cabin+on+the+east+side+of+the+pond+and+looks+like+we%27re+going+back+in+the+fall+or+winter%2e++Nice+camp+with+a+good+ranger%2c+and+friendly+%26+helpful+people+at+the+council+office%2c+too%2e%0d%0a

I+attended+camp+there+two+years+in+a+row+back+in+the+late+50%27s%2e++Boy+Scout+Camp+was+great+fun+that+every+young+scout+should+experience%2e++The+first+year+I+stayed+in+a+cabin+in+Pioneer+and+the+next+year+I+stayed+in+a+tent+in+the+same+camp+site%2e++Unfortunately%2c+I+was+there+when+our+troup+leadership+was+not%2c+so+we+were+not+able+to+take+advantage+of+all+aspects+of+the+camp%2c+however%2c+the+resident+leaders+did+their+best+to+ensure+we+experienced+as+much+of+Camp+Chesterfield+as+possible%2e++I+was+there+for+two+weeks+each+year+and+cherish+every+moment+spent+there%2e++To+this+day%2c+whenever+I+catch+the+odor+of+a+canvas+tent+or+the+sound+and+smell+of+pine+needles+on+the+ground%2c+my+mind+immidiately+goes+back+to+Camp+Chesterfield+and+my+youth%2e%0d%0a

Our+troop+stayed+at+Chesterfield+in+early+spring+2004%2e++We+enjoyed+it+very+much%2c+the+boys+hiked%2c+fished+and+really+were+not+bored+for+the+whole+weekend%2e++The+ranger+was+friendly+and+helpful%2e++We+hope+to+camp+there+again%2e++Troop+653%0d%0a

this+camp+was+a+dump%21++You+walk+in+the+water+and+stink%2e++Scout+pond+you+don%27t+enjoy%2e%0d%0a

Since+the+last+comment+the+camp+has+closed%2e+It+is+on+the+market%2e+It+is+sad+to+see+the+camp+I+spent+my+summers+at+for+6+years+close%2e+The+camp+still+hosts+troops%2c+packs%2c+and+crew+and+other+outside+groups+for+weekend+event%2e%0d%0a

I+was+fortunate+enough+to+spend+10+years+at+Chesterfield+Scout+Reservation%2c+and+I+loved+every+minute+of+it%2e+It+broke+my+heart%2c+years+ago%2c+when+I+found+out+that+summer+programs+would+be+ending+and+later+also+finding+out+the+camp+was+being+sold%2e+It+was+purchased+last+year%2c+and+to+my+knowledge+is+essentially+abandoned+%28it+doesn%27t+seem+like+the+current+owner+has+done+anything+with+it%29%2e+I+still+visit+when+I+can%3b+it%27s+always+very+nostalgic+but+also+sad+to+see+the+state+it+is+in%2e+CSR+will+forever+be+my+home+away+from+home%2e%0d%0a

No%2c+the+camp+has+not+been+sold+yet%2c+though+they+are+trying%2e+Merry+Christmas+in+July%2e%0d%0a
