The+camp+occupies+110+acres+on+Winnekeag+Lake+%28which+is+10+acres+or+more%29%2e+The+camp+offers+swimming%2c+boating+and+canoeing%2c+tent+campsites%2c+Adirondacks+%28lean%2dto%29+shelters+and+winter+cabins+for+overnight+groups%2c+an+activity+field+for+atheletics+and+camporees%2c+boats+and%2for+canoes+for+overnight+groups%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a
Camp+Split+Rock+Summer+Program+%2d+%0d%0aMy+Webelos+son+attended+here+for+4+years%2c++and+now+my+tiger+son+attended+last+summer+%28which+meant+that+%2aI%2a+attended+too%2e++I+never+realized+how+much+walking+they+did%21%29%2e+++Both+kids+love+it+here%2c++they+say+it+is+the+best+camp+ever%2e++%28They+compare+it+to+the+YMCA+camp%2c++and+the+city+run+camp%29%2e++There+is+a+new+camp+director%2c+George%2c+%282010+was+his+first+year%29+who+is+actively+trying+to+improve+an+already+good+experience+for+Cub+Scouts%2e++His+next+project+is+to+improve+it+for+Webelos%2e++The+Den+Guides+and+Camp+Counselors+were+generally+good%2c++some+were+fantastic%2c++and+a+very+few+were+very+poor%2e++However%2c++a+comment+to+George+resulted+in+either+an+improvement%2c++or+a+reassignment+to+a+non%2dleader+position+for+those+who+needed+it%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aIn+general%2c++the+program+was+not+perfect%2c+but+the+director+and+all+top+level+folks+were+committed+to+making+any+improvements+on+the+spot+as+needed%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+waterfront+director+took+lots+of+time+for+%2aspecial%2a+lessons+for+the+scouts+who+requested+them%2e++My+6+year+old+now+swims+on+his+own+after+3+essentially+private+lessons+with+her%2e++Those+who+did+NOT+want+lessons+were+given+free+swim+and+%2f+or+boating%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+BB+and+archery+directors+were+very+safety+conscious%2c++and+very+good+at+instructing%2e+++%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+Camp+%0d%0aVery+wooded%2c++lots+of+great+hiking%2e++Some+of+the+building+are+old+and+are+scheduled+for+repair%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0aWinter+cabin+camping+is+available%2c++and+the+wood+stoves+can+get++%2areally%2a+hot+%2d+to+the+point+that+one+dad+went+for+a+walk+to+cool+down+at+4+am+on+a+balmy+10+degree+winter%27s+morning%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a
