Camp+Resolute+is+part+of+the+E%2e+Paul+Robsham%2c+Jr%2e+Scout+Reservation%2e+It+is+located+a+short+distance+off+of+Route+495+on+250+acres+of+land+that+surronds+%22Little+Pond%22%2e+They+offer+both+a+resident+summer+camp+for+Webelos+and+Boy+Scouts%2e+They+have+a+dining+hall+with+modern+facilites+that+can+seat+280+people%2c+two+youth+shower+houses%2c+an+adult%2fhandicapped+accessible+shower+house%2c+a+Handicraft+Area%2c+a+Scoutcraft+area%2c+an+Ecology%2fConservation+area%2c+a+fully+outfitted+waterfront+with+rowboats%2c+sailboats+and+canoes%2c+a+Rifle+and+Archery+range%2c+a+Health+Lodge+and+a+Trading+Post%2e+Boy+Scouts+will+enjoy+the+trills+of+the+C%2eO%2eP%2eE%2e+%28Challenging+Outdoor+Physical+Experinece%29+program+that+runs+during+the+Residential+Weeks+%28min+age+13+on+Jan%2e+1st%2c+or+have+completed+the+7th+grade%29%2e+This+program+fosters+teamwork%2c+self%2dreliance%2c+confidence+and+trust+among+Scouts%2e+Scouts+learn+to+meet+many+physcial+and+mental+chalenges+in+this+program%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0aCampsites+%0d%0aThey+have+11+Troop+Campsites+and+are+open+year%2dround%2e+In+the+winter+you+can+rent+wood%2dstove+heated+cabins+that+have+bunk+beds+and+matresses%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAlso+try%3a+http%3a%2f%2fsne%2etripod%2ecom%2fktc%2ehtm%23bscamp%0d%0a

The+last+week+of+the+camping+season+is+devoted+to+specialty+camps%3a+Venture+Crews%2c+Trail+to+Eagle+%28every+required+badge+is+offered+with+councellor+follow%2dup+for+partials%29%2c+Aquadics+%28work+toward+BSA+lifeguard%29Ecology+%28work+toward+Hornaday+Badge%29+and+Webelos+Residential%2e%0d%0a

I+spent+many+summers+as+a+youth+at+this+camp+30+years+ago+and+have+been+there+many+times+in+my+leadership+position%2e+My+son+has+spent+several+weeks+there+in+the+%5bast+few+years%2e+He+has+also+attended+many+other+scout+camps%2e+Unfortunately%2c+He+now+refuses+to+return+to+Resolute+after+he+has+been+to+other+scout+camps%2e++The+Knox+Trail+Xouncil+has+chosen+to+put+it%27s+resources+into+the+Nobscot+Scout+reservation+in+order+to+attract+cabin+rental+and+non+scout+group+dollars%2e+As+near+as+I+can+determine%2c+the+council+figures+that+units+that+have+traditionally+returned+to+resolute+year+after+year+will+continue+to+do+so+despite+it%27s+many+problems%2e%0d%0aSome+of+these+are%3a%0d%0a1%29+Lack+of+a+strong+enthusiastic+camp+administrator%0d%0a2%29+A+very+surly+and+unccoperative+ranger%0d%0a3%29+A+mosquito+problem+that+is+bad+as+I%27ve+seen+at+any+scout+camp%2e%0d%0a4%29+Latrines+that+have+not+been+updated+in+over+30+years%2e%0d%0a5%29+A+cookie+cutter+approach+to+programming+with+no+unique+or+innovative+programs%2e%0d%0a6%29+Inconsistency+with+camp+cooks%2e%0d%0a7%29+Problems+with+ordering+supplies%0d%0a%0d%0aCamp+squanto+in+Plymouth+is+a+much+better+choice+%28my+son+loves+it+and+likes+to+go+back%29+and+I+understand+that+the+Mohegan+Council%27s+Treasure+Valley+has+a+good+program+too+although+I+don%27t+have+personal+experience+with+it%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a

Excellent+physical+facility+with+a+part%2dtime+camp+ranger+willing+to+go+the+extra+mile+to+make+camper+feel+welcome%2e+Would+benefit+with+administration+that+posseses+a+stronger+educational+background+to+recognize+that+summer+camp+is+probably+ghe+greatest+learning+oportunity+that+any+Scout+will+experience%2e+This+carries+over+to+the+tenure+of+camp+staff+and+how+they+are+managed+and+utilized%2e+Great+camp+that+hold+great%2epromise%2c+but+issues+exist+that+need+to+be+addressed%2e%0d%0a
