The Hocking Hills area comprises several state parks, including Cantwell Cliffs, Rock House, Conkle's Hollow, Cedar Falls, Ash Cave, and Old Man's Cave. Standouts: Conkle's Hollow State Nature Preserve. Take the rim trail for some of the most scenic overlooks in the state. Old Man's Cave is also quite rugged and beautiful, although it's also the most popular and likely to be crowded nearly every weekend. Old Man's Cave primitive campground is just that: one water tap at the parking lot and some old outhouses are the only signs of civilization. Best to go it spring or fall before the campus partiers get set up.
