Nestled+in+the+Blue+Ridge+Mountains+of+western+North+Carolina+near+the+town+of+Saluda+lies+Camp+Bob+Hardin%2e+The+camp+is+located+in+the+native+land+of+the+Cherokee+Nation+and+covers+250+acres+of+mountainous+terrain%2e++With+two+lakes+and+beautiful+mountain+views%2c+the+camp+boasts+an+Appalachian+spirit+for+those+Scouts+hardy+enough+to+seek+out+its+mountain+adventure%2e++Camp+Bob+Hardin+offers+a+wide+range+of+in+camp+and+out%2dof+camp+programs+that+are+just+as+attractive+to+older+Scouts+as+they+are+to+the+younger+ones%2e++Activity+areas+include+a+Shooting+Sports+program+with+separate+archery%2c+shotgun+and+rifle+ranges%2c+a+very+dynamic+C%2eO%2eP%2eE%2e+course%2c+scoutcraft%2c+handicraft+and+nature+areas%2c+a+large+activity+field+for+soccer%2c+ultimate+frisbee+and+volley+ball%2c+and+twin+lakes+that+enable+a+complete+aquatics+program%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a
My+troop+recently+visited+Camp+Bob+Hardin+for+Summer+Camp+and+would+have+to+say+that+the+area+is+beautiful+and+the+camp+is+located+close+to+civilization%2e++But%2c+the+camp+staff+really+needs+to+work+on+their+communication+skills%2e+Also+if+you+plan+on+going+to+summer+camp+to+mostly+get+aquatics+done%2c+I+would+highly+not+recommend+this+camp+because+the+water+temperature+is+extremely+cold%2e++++%0d%0a
Just+a+quick+response+to+the+7%2f4%2f2003+comment+%2d%2d+I+was+aquatics+director+back+in%2c+shoot%2c+95%3f%2c+and+though+the+water+gets+right+cold+after+a+mountain+rain%2c+for+the+most+part+it%27s+a+great+place+for+aquatics%2e++The+weather+is+actually+a+great+benefit+compared+to%2c+say%2c+Camp+Ho+Non+Wah+south+of+Charleston%2e++The+mosquitoes+are+bad+in+both%2c+but+at+least+you%27re+not+panting+like+you%27d+be+at+the+beach%21%0d%0a%0d%0aIt%27s+a+great+camp%2c+the+mountains+will+get+your+kids+in+shape+something+fierce%2c+and+you+couldn%27t+pick+more+beautiful+country%2e++The+dining+hall+is+a+great+facility%2c+and+two+lakes+means+your+swimmers+aren%27t+competing+with+boaters+for+water+space%2e++I+enjoyed+my+time+there%2c+and+hope+%28and+expect%29%2c+if+you+take+the+trip%2c+you+will+too%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aUnfortunately+I+can%27t+speak+to+the+communications+skills+of+the+2003+staff%2c+but+in+91%2d95%2c+we%27d+talk+your+ears+off%2e%2e%2e%0d%0a
Spent+the+first+week+of+July+07+at+Bob+Hardin%2e++New+Camp+Director+and+Program+Direct+%2d+GREAT+Guys%2c+Motivated%2c+work+well+together%2e++BEAUTIFUL+camp%2e++Food+is+good%2e++Most+staff+are+welll+seasoned%2e++Upward+Bound+%2f+1st+Year+Camper+Program+is+not+as+robust+as+I+feel+it+should+be%2e++MB+program+is+fully+staffed+and+by%2dand%2dlarge+is+pretty+good%2e++Trading+Post+is+LACKING%2c+alot%2e++Would+certainly+return+again%2e%0d%0a
I+can%27t+believe+it%2c+our+Troop+%28325%29+was+there+for+the+first+week+of+July+07+too%2e++All+the+staff+was+fun+and+jovial%2e++Just+wish+they+would+have+let+the+Troops+know+the+daily+themes+so+we+could+participate%2e++Gotta+love+Cardic+Hill%21%0d%0a
Camp+Bob+Hardin+was+damaged+in+a+storm+in+2018%2e+It+will+be+closed+for+summer+2019%2e+Please+contact+your+Council+office+for+alternate+sites%2e%0d%0a
