Camp+Lavigne%2c+the+council+camp+and+local+outdoor+education+site+of+the+Boy+Scouts+of+America%2c+has+been+serving+area+campers+since+1925%2e+Owned+by+the+Columbia%2d+Montour+Council+of+the+BSA+this+220+acre+tract+is+located+in+Northern+Columbia+County%2c+at+the+point+where+Cole%27s+Creek+flows+into+the+famous+Fishing+Creek%2e+Native+Americans+camped+here+back+in+the+18th+Century%2e+It+was+first+named+Winona+Park%2c+after+the+Indian+maiden+who+is+buried+here%2e+Then%2c+in+its+early+Boy+Scout+days%2c+it+was+renamed+%22Camp+Lavigne+on+the+Waters+of+Fishing+Creek%2c%22+after+the+first+Council+president%2c+J%2eF%2e+Lavigne%2c+who+was+instrumental+in+purchasing+the+origional+33+acres+of+woodland+for+%241%2c000%0d%0a

Here+at+Camp+Lavigne%3a+For+those+of+you+who+are+new+to+our+camp%21%0d%0a%0d%0aCamp+Lavigne+has+over+200+acres+of+mostly+wooded+land+for+you+to+enjoy%2e+A+winding+Fishing+Creek+to+spend+time+fishing+in+along+with+Lake+Harmon+located+deep+in+the+heart+of+camp%2e+Once+your+done+fishing+you+can+enjoy+nature+hikes%2c+historical+trail+hikes%2c+or+just+a+walk+around+camp+to+see+what+is+happing%2e+Camp+Lavigne+is+blessed+with+much+diverse+wildlife+that+call+our+camp+Home+like+deer%2c+bear%2c+fish%2c+beaver%2c+a+variety+of+waterfowl%2c+frogs%2c+salamanders%2c+turkey%2c+and+much+much+more%2e+If+you+are+visiting+in+the+winter+chances+are+you+will+usually+find+snow+on+the+ground%2e+In+the+summer+you+can+enjoy+soothing+warm+days+with+lots+of+places+to+find+shade%2e+On+the+north+side+of+camp+you+will+find+the+%93Gateway+to+Adventure%94+off+of+Camp+Lavigne+road+that+leads+into+the+parking+lot%2e+From+there+you+can+view+The+Wise+Memorial+Lodge%3b+the+central+operating+center+of+summer+camp+or+a+great+place+to+spend+a+weekend+with+your+friends%2e+Also+from+the+parking+lot+is+The+_______+Meadow+to+the+west+that+contains+the+pavilion%2c+the+climbing+and+repelling+tower+with+both+high+and+low+cope+course+attached%2c+the+archery+range+located+just+past+the+cope+elements%2c+the+program+shelter+which+can+be+used+as+a+pavilion+that+has+removable+sides+makes+for+yet+another+winter+camping+experience%2c+and+The+Meadow+campsite+located+at+the+very+end+of+the+meadow+where+you+can+play+on+the+sandy+beach+along+fishing+creek+or+explore+in+the+woods%2e+Traveling+east+from+the+parking+lot+you+can+follow+the+trail+leading+down+stream+and+across+two+bridges+over+Coles+Creek%2e+Continue+up+the+trail+to+The+Greystone+Campsite+with+six+leantows+under+the+canopy+of+pines%2e+If+you+cross+the+foot+bridge+from+the+parking+lot+you+will+enter+the+main+part+of+camp+that+contains+many+more+exciting+features+and+facilities%2e+The+first+building+you+will+see+located+on+your+right+is+the+camps+Dining+Hall%2e+Continuing+straight+from+there+you+will+come+into+a+large+open+area%2c+this+is+the+Paraide+Field%2e+From+here+you+can+see+of+course+the+dinging+hall%2c+and+going+clockwise+if+standing+in+the+center+of+the+field%2c+the+commissioners+area%2c+the+shower+house+and+swimming+pool%2c+the+camp+staff+cabins%2c+the+round+top+with+the+main+flag+pole+towering+in+front+of+it%2c+the+trading+post+that+doubles+as+the+quartermaster+area%2c+and+then+the+directors+cabin+next+to+the+dining+hall+again%2e+The+main+road+that+travels+through+camp+is+set+up+in+a+circle%2e+Starting+at+the+paraide+field+you+can+walk+out+the+road+in+between+the+round+top+and+the+camp+staff+cabins%2e+Just+past+the+cabins+is+the+chapel+located+along+fishing+creek+with+the+soothing+sound+of+flowing+water+making+the+chapel+area+very+surreal+and+an+ideal+place+to+worship+holding+vespers+services+during+summer+camp+season%2e+Continuing+out+the+trail+you+will+happen+upon+the+frontier+campsite+on+the+left%2c+then+you+will+find+yourself+walking+through+the+middle+of+the+Pioneer+campsite%2e+Around+the+end+of+Lake+Harmon+and+continuing+right+you+will+pass+by+the+lake+and+come+across+the+riffle+range+dug+into+the+side+of+the+mountain%2e+Following+the+riffle+range+comes+the+Clay+campsite+that+has+one+small+cabin%2e+If+you+take+the+road+through+Clay+it+will+take+you+up+the+side+of+the+mountain+to+the+Explorer+campsite+where+there+are+six+more+leantows%2e+When+you+continue+around+the+circle+keeping+to+the+right+at+the+Y+in+the+road+after+Clay+you+will+see+Wilderness+A+%26+B+campsites+containing+a+total+of+12+leantwos%2e+If+you+Continure+out+the+road+you+will+find+yourself+back+at+the+Paraide+Field%2e+If+you+were+to+take+a+left+where+the+road+Y%92d+just+past+Clay+campsite+you+would+walk+by+several+rock+climbing+sites+and+the+renowned+Johnny+Martin%92s+Cave%2e+So+as+you+can+see+there+are+many+things+to+explore+and+do+here+at+Camp+Lavigne%2e+We+hope+you+enjoy+your+stay+and+come+back+often%2e+Our+camp+is+ever+growing+and+there%92s+always+something+new%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0a

Camp+Lavigne+is+growing+more+and+more+every+year+and+the+program+continues+to+get+better%2e++I+highly+recommend+this+camp+to+anyone+from+first+year+camper+to+Eagle+Scout%2e++There+is+something+there+for+everyone%2e++They+also+have+a+really+great+day+camp%2c+cub+parent+weekend%2c+and+Venture+Week%21++I%27ve+attended+all+of+them+and+I+must+say%2e++Check+it+out%2e++It%92s+a+great+price+and+an+ever+greater+program%2e%0d%0a
