Camp+Hart+is+part+of+the+1%2c400%2b+acre+Musser+Scout+Reservation+and+is+located+in+Marlborough+Township%2c+Montgomery+County%2c+Pennsylvania%2e+The+camp+is+nestled+around+the+serenity+of+the+Unami+Creek%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0a

I+grew+up+in+scouting+in+Philadelphia+as+a+member+of+Troop+58+sponsored+by+St%2e+Peter%27s+Catholic+Church+located+at+5th+and+Girard+Ave%2e+I+have+many+fond+memories+of+both+summer+and+winter+camping+trips+to+Camp+Hart+during+the+50s+and+60s%2e+I+was+fortunate+enough+to+ascend+to+Eagle+Scout+as+well+as+Brotherhood+in+Order+of+the+Arrow%2e+It+would+not+have+been+possible+without+the+opportunities+available+at+Camp+Hart+as+well+as+the+wounderful+staff+who+guided+and+supported+all+of+the+scouts+in+their+efforts%2e+Memories+worth+keeping+and+times+not+forgotten%2e++Hastings+Lamb%2c+Troop+58%2c+1956+%2d+1964%0d%0a

I+attended+Camp+Hart+as+a+member+of+Troop+575+from+Pennypack+in+Philadelphia%2e+I%27m+now+63+years+old+and+still+look+upon+my+scouting+years+and+time+at+Camp+Hart+as+the+most+wonderful+adventure+ever+experienced%2e+Rising+from+Tenderfoot+to+Camp+Staff+member+in+1961+thru+1963+working+in+the+Camp+Craft+section+of+%22Hart+East%22+I%27m+thanful+to+those+men+who+gave+of+their+time+that+I+might+experience+such+an+adventure%2e+%0d%0a

I+remember+many+good+times+during+winter+camp+at+Hart+Scout+Reservation+in+the+1960s+and+early+1970s%2e++As+the+oldest+troop+in+existence%2c+Troop+4+%28Westside+Presbyterian+Church%2c+Germantown%29+always+had+first+crack+at+reserving+Unami+Lodge+for+winter+camp%2c+which+was+always+an+experience%21++Fond+memories%2e%0d%0a

Just+thought+I%27d+revisit+and+post+a+few+thoughts+as+this+old+soldier+gradually+fades+away%2e++Camp+Heart+always+brings+back+fond+memories+of+my+youth+and+scouting+activities%2e++It+is+a+shame+that+our+councils+are+troubled+by+political+correctness+and+loss+of+focus+on+what+the+true+scouting+values+as+founded+by+LBP%2e+The+city+of+Philadelphia+is+just+plain+wrong+in+their+issue+on+the+hallowed+halls+of+22nd+and+Winter+streets%2e+I+remember+visits+to+the+council+office+with+Harry+Forrest+and+the+OA+group%2e+But+I+digress%2e++I+am+fortunate+to+be+living+in+one+of+the+last+best+places+in+the+USA%2c+if+not+the+world+%2d+Montana%2e++Big+Sky+country+as+it+is+called+and+the+location+of+the+story+%22A+River+Runs+Thru+It%2e%22+Montana+has+a+robust+scouting+program+that+reminds+me+of+how+the+Phila+councils+use+to+be+and+offers+many+untainted+wilderness+camping+and+fine+scout+reservations%2fcamps+very+reminiscent+og+Camps+in+PA+like+Hart%2c+Ressica+Falls%2c+TI+%28there+is+one+on+a+secluded+island+in+the+middle+of+a+lake%21%29+and+Breyer+reservation%2c+which+I+understand+was+sold+by+the+Phila+counsel%2e+Pity%21+Scouting+provided+me+with+many+opportunities+to+grow+from+a+child+into+an+adult+and+in+many+instances+I+used+skills+gained+to+plow+my+way+thru+life+and+even+save+my+bacon+in+Vietnam+and+on+a+few+back+country+hunting+trips+in+the+Montana+wilderness%2e+I+no+longer+can+tolerate+sleeping+on+the+hard+ground+as+my+joints+and+bones+talk+vehemently+against+the+experience%2e++Kind+of+like+adding+milk+to+rice+crispies+and+hearing+the+always+present+snap%2c+crackle+and+pops%21+To+those+of+you+who+enjoy+and+live+the+Scouting+way%2c+never+let+it+be+forgotten+and+pass+your+knowledge+on+to+another+young+scout+or+as+many+as+you+can%2e+It+will+be+appreciated+and+used%2e+WWW%21+%0d%0a

Some+of+my+most+treasured+chilhood+memories+are+with+Bridgeport+Troop+No+5+at+the+Camp+in+the+late+1940%27s%2eI+remember+Joe+Torak+who+became+a+State+Rep%2c+and+a+restaurateur%2e+He+died+tragically+in+a+car+wreck%2e+Steve+Adamchick+was+or+Scoutmaster%2c+a+wonderful+man%2e+My+best+friend+to+this+day%2c+Jim+Brazel%2c+was+tapped+out+for+Order+of+the+Arow+while+we+were+on+an+annual+campout+there%2e+Just+a+great+place+and+a+great+time%2e+I+didn%27t+even+mind+mess+cooking%21+LOL+%0d%0a
