The+McKee+Scout+Reservation+is+a+1%2c000+acre+camping+facility+nestled+in+the+the+forest+near+Mount+Sterling%2c+Kentucky%2e++Camp+McKee+has+many+things+to+offer%2c+including+all+season+camping%2c+a+well+stocked+lake+with+catfish%2c+bass+and+bluegill%2c+and+serves+as+an+excellent+area+for+training+and+vounteer+work+for+corporations+and+other+youth+organizations%2e+For+the+nature+observer%2c+McKee+is+also+a+wildlife+refuge+for+animals+such+as+Canada+Geese+and+Whitetail+Deer%2e%0d%0a

Just+finished+our+third+year+at+McKee%2dit+was+great%2e++13+campsites+with+latrines+%26+wash+stations+%28many+are+secluded%29%2e++Community+shower+with+private+stalls%2e++Brand+new+%24million+dining+hall+with+good+food%2e++Waterfront+with+motor+boating%2c+sailing%2c+canoeing%2c+etc%2e+Great+first+year%27s+Scout+program+and+High+Adventure+program+for+older+Scouts%2e+New+climbing+tower%2e++Saw+deer+and+turkey+several+times+near+the+campsite%2e++Staff+was+SUPER%2e++Can%27t+wait+to+go+back+next+year%2e%0d%0a

My+Troop+spent+a+week+at+Camp+McKee+in+July+2006%2e+Had+a+great+time+%2eGood+food%2c+great+staff%2c+and+a+well+run+waterfront%2e+Quite+a+few+merit+badge+courses%2e+I+would+go+back%2e+%0d%0a

I+just+spent+a+summer+there+as+staff%2e+I+is+an+awesome+place+to+learn+new+things%2e+It+was+alot+of+fun%2e+And+i+am+going+back+this+year%2e%0d%0a

Don%27t+get+me+wrong%2c+I+am+very+fond+of+Camp+McKee%2e++Though+our+troop+has+never+gone+there+for+summer+resident+camp%2c+we+have+used+the+camp+for+weekend+campouts+on+several+occasions+and+have+always+enjoyed+our+visits%2e++The+only+problem+with+McKee+is+that+the+place+is+over%2drun+by+poison+ivy%2e++The+stuff+is+growing+everywhere%2e++It%27s+totally+out+of+control%2e++In+many+places+the+%22crop%22+of+poison+ivy+is+as+tall+and+thick+as+a+corn+field%2e++The+camp+has+a+7%2dmile+loop+hiking+trail+called+the+Pioneer+Mountain+Trail+that+has+become+almost+unuseable+during+the+summer+months+because+of+the+poison+ivy+that+grows+waist+high+in+so+many+places%2e++This+is+a+real+shame%2c+because+the+PMT+used+to+be+a+really+nice%2c+relatively+easy+hiking+trail+that+was+great+for+younger+scouts%2e++It+even+had+a+couple+of+Appalachian+Trail+style+shelters+mid%2dway+so+scouts+could+backpack+out+4+miles%2c+spend+the+night+in+the+shelters%2c+then+hike+3+miles+back+into+camp+the+next+day+without+having+to+backtrack%2e+++%0d%0a

This+Camp+is+Great%21+It+had+a+great+water+carnival%2e+Our+troop+loves+coming+here+because+they+have+an+airconditioned+dining+hall%21%21%0d%0a
