Bear+Creek+is+a+wonderful+camp%2e++I+have+been+there+once+but+am+going+back+this+summer+hopefully+as+a+Councler+in+Training%2e+++Bear+creek+is+in+a+beutiful+location+and+has+great+progarms%2ffacilities%2e++I+recomend+it+to+an+scout+troop%2e%0d%0a

Great+facilities%2c+camp+is+subject+to+Hill+Country+flooding%2e++Astronony+%2f+Computer+Center+is+awesome%2e++Very+Rocky%2c+traversing+from+parking+lot+to+Dining+Hall+is+dangerous%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aFood+was+terrible+in+2006+when+we+were+there+for+a+week%2e++I+actually+saved+a+burnt+sausage+to+put+on+display+at+our+troop%2e++It+was+so+burnt+that+is+is+still+preserved+with+no+mold+on+it+after+a+year+on+display%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aOverall+a+good+camp%2c+much+less+humid+than+Lost+Pines+or+El+Rancho+Cima%2c+which+are+not+that+far+away%2e%0d%0a

I+worked+at+BCSR+for+five+summers+and+got+to+witness+the+transformations+it+under+went+over+the+last+ten+years%2e++I+loved+it+in+1998+when+I+started+and+had+its+issues+to+deal+with%2e++GOing+back%2c+after+the+work+is+mostly+completed%2c+I+see+a+fantastic+transformation%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0aMost+camp+sites+have+tent+plat+forms+to+be+used+any+time+of+the+year%2e++The+pool+has+a+great+changing+room+and+is+kept+in+great+condition%2e++Working+in+the+Boat+Docks+I+witnessed+the+creek%27s+changes%2e++Prior+to+the+new+dam%2c+the+water+was+held+back+by+the+built+up+soot+against+the+river%2e++Now+the+water+is+deep%2c+clean+and+beautiful%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0aYes+the+hills+are+rocky%2c+but+most+of+the+trails+are+in+good+shape%2e++The+OA+has+done+a+marvelous+job+over+the+last+decade+transforming+the+trails+to+make+them+safer+and+more+easily+traveled%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAs+for+the+food%2c+I+haven%27t+been+to+summer+camp+since+2002%2c+so+the+food+may+not+be+as+good+as+I+recall%2c+but+i+never+complained+while+I+was+there%2e%0d%0a

I+worked+three+summers+at+Bear+Creek%2e+The+staff+are+a+friendly+group%2c+and+they+teach+their+classes+in+great+detail%2e+It+is+a+wonderful+camp+and+a+fun+place+to+be%0d%0a

Sometimes%2c+Bear+Creek+gets+a+bad+rap%2c+but+it+is+really+a+great+scout+camp%2e+The+facilities+are+great%2c+with+each+program+area+having+several+picnic+tables%2c+shade+structures%2c+and+program%2dspecific+items+%28like+a+pool%2farchery+range%29%2e+All+the+rangers+are+shaded%2c+so+you+don%27t+have+to+go+out+into+the+sun+to+shoot%2e+The+dining+hall+is+really+nice%2c+and+there+is+usually+a+cool+breeze+blowing+through%2e+Most+of+the+tent+pads+are+in+good+repair+and+well+organized+in+the+campsite%2e+Most+of+the+campsite+have+pavilions%2e+The+bathrooms+are+clean%2c+nice%2c+and+pretty+private%2c+with+a+toilet%2fsink+in+each+lockable+section%2c+and+showers+with+locking+doors%2e+The+best+part+is+that%2c+unlike+other+scout+camps%2c+the+staff+really+cares%2c+and+does+their+best+to+make+it+a+great+week+for+everyone%2e+I+would+highly+recommended+Bear+Creek%2e%0d%0a

I+think+this+is+the+camp+my+grandson+is+at+today%2e+trying+to+see+any+recent+photos+of+the+camp+and+reviews+but+there+isn%27t+anything+past+2011%2e+cannot+find+any+satellite+photos+either%2e%0d%0a
