Although+Choke+Canyon+is+located+in+South+Texas+brush+country%2c+there+are+many+reasons+why+our+boys+enjoy+camping+here%2e++The+park+has+two+units%2c+South+Shore+and+the+Calliham+Unit%2e++We+always+use+the+Calliham+unit%2e++We+use+the+primitive+camping+area+known+as+the+90+Acre+Lake%2e++Separate+from+the+main+lake%2c+there+is+a+lot+of+birds+and+even+a+few+alligators+that+nest+on+the+opposite+shore%2e++By+the+way%2c+it+is+not+a+good+idea+to+swim+in+this+area%21++%28We+have+seen+some+Scout+troops+allow+their+boys+to+swim+here+despite+posted+warnings%2e%29+In+the+evenings%2c+buy+some+deer+corn+from+the+small+bait+shore+before+you+enter+the+park%2c+and+drive+slowly+along+the+roads+and+throw+out+the+corn%2e++You+will+see+many+white+tail+deer%2c+javelinas%2c+and+at+times+wild+turkey%2e++There+are+several+hiking+trails+with+many+opportunities+to+learn+about+native+plants%2e++There+is+a+Youth+Group+area+that+can+be+reserved%2c+but+it+is+_very_+primative%2e++The+nearest+bathrooms+are+a+good+hike+away+and+there+are+hardly+any+trees%2e++One+of+our+favorite+places+to+camp%2e%0d%0a
