We%27re+going+for+the+first+time+in+two+weeks%2c+so+I+can%27t+tell+you+too+much+now%2e++The+cost+of+out%2dof%2dcouncil+units+before+the+deadline+was+%24185+per+scout%2e+Flush+toilets%2c+stall+showers%2c+mess+hall%2c+sits+astride+the+Stanislaus+river%2e%0d%0a

Our+troop+went+to+Wolfeboro+last+year+%282001%29%2e++It+is+a+very+old+camp+but+upgraded+and+maintained%2c+but+of+course+you+can+find+things+that+need+work%2e++Lots+of+history+in+the+dining+hall%2e++The+program+was+quite+complete+with+activities+for+older+scouts+like+rock+climbing+and+shotgun%2e++But+the+best+was+the+commitment+of+the+staff%2e++As+Scoutmaster%2c+they+were+all+very+supportive+of+my+questions%2c+issues+and+needs%2e%0d%0a

This+is+the+camp+of+my+youth+%2d+4+years%2c+and+2+years+as+a+scout+master%2e++The+camp+has+a+lot+of+history+such+as+the+trail+of+the+13+gold+crosses%2c+from+california%27s+gold+rush+days%2e++It+is+located+in+a+valley+that+offers+great+camp+sites+along+the+Stanislaus+river%2c+and+along+the+base+of+the+mountains+%2d+along+with+great+views+of+the+granite+lined+mountains%2e++While+some+buildings+are+showing+there+age%2c+it+adds+to+the+overall+history+of+the+camp%2e++There+have+been+new+buildings+built%2c+and+with+the+OA%27s+help+the+camp+is+maintained+well%2e++All+camps+prosper+or+die+with+there+staff+and+program%2e++In+my+expearance+both+were+excellent%2e++Many+great+memories+as+a+youth%2c+and+as+a+adult+are+held+here%2c+i+am+sure+your+troop+will+cherish+the+experance%2c+and+will+welcome+return+trips%2e%0d%0a

First%2c+Wolfeboro+is+not+out+Pt+Reyes%21+It+is+about+40+miles+East+of+Angles+Camp%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aGREAT+CAMP%21%0d%0aMy+son+has+been+there+several+times+with+his+troop%2e+He+has+been+3+times+during+a+regular+summer+session+and+once+for+Fall+Camp%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aFood+%2d+Good+to+Great%2e+They+have+a+salad+bar+to+help+fill+up+on+%28and+keep+things+moving%29%2e%0d%0aStaff+%2d+Very+helpful%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+first+year+was+2008+and+that+was+the+year+of+%22California+Burning%22%2e+The+camp+we+were+going+to+%28along+with+several+others%29+ended+being+closed%2e+Wolfeboro+took+in+the+%22Refugees%22+and+found+room%2e+They+also+took+in+some+of+the+staff+from+some+of+the+other+camps%2e+Food+was+a+little+short+the+first+few+days+because+they+had+to+ration+their+reserves%2c+but+there+was+a+celebration+when+the+delivery+truck+came+in%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aTerran+is+fairly+flat+%28once+you+get+there%2e+Your+troop+parks+in+a+lot+up+off+of+the+highway+and+hike+down%2e+%28I+mean+DOWN%2e+It+is+about+an+800+foot+drop+in+2+miles%2e%29+The+gear+gets+loaded+onto+a+camp+truck+who+brings+it+down%2e+You+can+also+have+a+troop+trailer+you+pull+down%2e+Careful+%2d+The+road+has+many+large+boulders+buried+in+the+roadway%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aThey+have+an+Outstanding+Rock+Climbing+area%2e%0d%0aThe+waterfront+leaves+a+bit+to+be+desired%2e+It+is+the+Stanislaus+river+and+it+is+the+snow+melt%2e+Last+year+%282011%29%2c+we+were+there+for+about+the+4th+week+and+it+was+the+1st+week+the+waterfront+was+open+because+of+the+water+temp%2e+But+if+you+can+swim+100+yards+at+5400+elevation+and+low+50s+water+and+push+the+ice+bergs+away%2c+you+can+swim+most+any+where%2e+There+is+footage+on+YouTube+from+the+1st+week+showing+the+water+flowing+over+the+footbridge%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aGPS+of+the+main+office+is+38%2e411670+%2d120%2e078134%2e+The+brown+stuff+all+around+isn%27t+dry+grass%2c+it+is+the+rock%2e+The+area+is+primarily+Sand+stone+and+granite%2e+Check+it+out+in+Google+Earth%2e+I%27ve+posted+a+couple+pictures+up+there%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0aFall+Camp+%2d+Great+Deal%21++This+is+held+on+the+weekends+during+September%2e+They+open+up+the+shooting+ranges+%28shotgun+and+rifle%2fpistol%29%2c+climbing+area%2c+and+swimming+area+%28if+there+is+anyone+so+inclined%2e%29+You+can+shoot+as+much+as+you+want+for+the+fixed+cost+of+the+weekend%2e+%28Like+about+%2450%2d60+or+so%2e%29+They+probably+won%27t+have+an+MB+counselors%2c+but+if+your+troop+has+one%2c+then+you+could+work+on+climbing+%2f+shooting+MBs%2e%0d%0a
