This is a beautiful scout camp with several nice cabins and lodges for winter camping and Adirondack cabins for outdoor winter camping. Situated on the banks of French Creek with Deer Creek running through the lower half of the camp, this gives scouts opportunities for fishing both streams and canoeing French Creek.

Custaloga Town is a wonderful summer camp for Scouts. The staff is considered to be one of the finest in the country and there's plenty to do as well. After the summer camp season ends, the camp stays active all year round. Winter camping is encouraged and there are many trails to explore and much to be done. The camp borders French Creek (which in turn hits the Allegheny River just a few miles away), so canoeing is also a great activity to avail yourself of. There are heated

I went to camp there, and participated in the seasonal camporee's, in the early 70's, and I have some great memories. I very much enjoyed Scouting in my youth, and now my son's are enjoying it.

We+attended+camp+Custaloga+for+the+first+time+this+year%2c+July+2004%2e+My+boys+were+optimistic+at+the+beginning+of+the+week%2e+That+optimism+quickly+faded%2e+They+were+just+as+confused+as+I+was+about+their+%27open+program%27%2e+There+were+no+scheduled+merit+badge+classes%2e+The+scouts+could+show+up+to+any+of+100+merit+badge+classes+at+any+time+they+wanted%2e+The+exception+was+for+aquatics%2c+shooting+sports+and+first+aid%2e+The+pool+was+hardly+ever+open+for+a+free+swim%2c+only+twice+as+far+as+I+could+tell%2c+and+one+of+those+was+cancelled%2e+The+work+required+by+counselors+for+merit+badges+seemed+non%2dexistent%2e+I+believe+the+open+program+was+a+drain+on+the+staff%2e+The+staff+was+un%2ddisciplined+and+set+a+bad+example+with+their+antics%2e+The+food+was+poor%2e+I+was+highly+disappointed+with+the+Friday+chicken+dinner%2e+Chicken%3f++Looked+more+like+pigeon%2e+I+believe+the+open+program+could+work+better+with+more+planning+and+better%2dtrained+staff%2e+There+was+an+overall+lack+of+coordination%2e+During+a+camp+sponsored+bicycle+race+cars+were+allowed+to+drive+on+the+same+road+the+cyclists+were+on%2e+Poor+planning%2e+I+wish+there+were+nicer+thing+I+could+say%2e+The+staff+did+try+in+some+instances%2c+but+it+wasn%92t+enough%2e%0d%0a

I+think+Custaloga+Town+is+the+greatest+camp+around%2e+It+has+a+lot+of+different+activities+going+on%2e+I+think+Open+Program+is+a+good+idea%2e+The+food+has+got+better+over+the+years%2e+They+have+an+awesome+staff+and+am+definitley+thinkinmg+about+going+back+next+year%2e+They+seem+to+always+have+an+open+swim+to+go+to%2e+THe+directors+are+also+really+nice%2e+Ecspeccially+Christie++%0d%0a
