We+continue+to+attend+Camp+Cedars+every+year+and+the+staff+and+program+always+impress+us%2e++With+more+Merit+Badges+and+Activities+to+choose+from+than+the+40%2b+Scouts+we+bring%2e++Our+Scouts+earn+up+to+five+merit+badges+during+the+week+and+some+additional+awards%2e++Not+just+First+Aid+and+Woodcarving%2c+but+Horsemanship%2c+Aviation%2c+Golfing%2c+Shootgun%2c+Mile+Swim+and+more%2e++The+facilities+are+fantastic%2e++Very+tall+Climbing+Tower%2c+complete+COPE+Course%2c+Horses%2c+Lakefront%2c+Shooting+Sports+Arena%2c+huge+Ampitheater%2c+Swimming+Pool%2c+Nature+Lodge%2c+nice+campsites+and+even+include+an+air%2dconditioned+Dinning+Hall+and+Trading+Post%2e++The+Staff+are+experianced+and+understand+Scouting+and+how+to+keep+the+Scouts+and+us+Leaders+happy%2e%0d%0a

Excellent+camp%2c+with+a+very+good+staff+and+facilities%2e+I+attended+this+camp+as+a+scout%2c+and+as+a+Scoutmaster%2c+I+brought+my+Troop+from+Colorado+so+that+they+could+do+the+Swimming+%26+Lifesaving+MB%27s+that+are+not+offered+at+our+councils%27+camp%2e+My+Scouts+were+so+impressed+that+they+chose+to+return+2+years+later+instead+of+trying+a+new+camp%2e+When+you+can%27t+be+camping+in+the+mountains%2c+this+is+a+great+alternative%2e+Keep+up+the+great+work%2e++++++++++%0d%0a+++++++++++++++++Todd+White+SM+Troop+26%0d%0a+++++++++++++++++++++++%0d%0a

My+dad+was+stationed+at+Offutt+Airbase%2c+south+of+Omaha%2c+back+in+it%27s+heyday+of+the+mid%2d60%27s%2e++++I+went+to+summer+camp+and+various+camporees+at+Camp+Cedars+for+three+years+with+two+different+troops+and+had+the+greatest+experiences+ever+there%2e++Initiated+into+the+Order+of+the+Arrow+there%2c+too%2c+an+exprience+I+will+always+remember%2e+Because+my+dad+was+transferred+several+times%2c+I+went+to+two+other+scout+camps+in+other+states%2e++None+compared+to+Camp+Cedars%3b+best+camp+ever+and+glad+to+hear+that+is+still+gets+rave+revues%2e++When+Camp+Eagle+was+new%2c+we+had+a+competition+with+them%2c+tug%2do%2dwar%2c+canoe+races%2c+etc+and+after+it+was+over%2c+we+retired+the+colors+and+had+a+huge+campfire+for+both+camps%2e++It+was+so+awesome%2e++%0d%0a

Overall+a+C%2c%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0aOur+Troop+attend+Camp+Cedars+July+10th%2d16+2011%2e%0d%0aWe+chose+the+camp+for+the+Avaiation+MB%2c+as+it+is+not+offered+in+our+council%2c+%28they+work+with+a+local+airport+to+charter+planes%29+and+we+always+try+to+find+new+places+for+the+youth+to+experience+they+also+had+a+larger+offering+then+most+so+it+was+a+nice+change%2e+The+weather+was+the+hottest+they+had+had+for+several+years+and+since+we+are+from+Denver+Area+Council+the+90%2b+degree+heat+with+90%2b%25+humidity+was+very+hard+to+be+in+but+our+scouts+toughed+it+out+and+did+great%2e+I+will+rate+the+general+areas+below%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAdministration%2d%2dB%2b%0d%0aResponsive+to+questions+and+needs%2c+we+arrived+on+saturday+night+and+they+had+someone+there+to+make+sure+we+found+everything+and+were+set+for+the+night%2e+Issues+during+the+week+were+acted+upon+but+the+fact+the+it+was+week+6+and+they+had+not+addressed+several+issues+from+leaders+guide+during+opening+meetings+and+seemed+surprised+when+mentioned+was+a+little+worrying%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aAquatics%2d%2dA%2b%2b%0d%0aBy+far+the+best+programs+they+had%2c+both+pool+and+lake+front%2c+Aquatics+director+was+outstanding+and+his+staff+was+top+notch%2c+they+worked+with+all+swim+types+and+knowledgeable+in+that%2e+We+had+all+swimmer+types+and+2+taking+BSA+lifguard%2c+all+did+great+and+learned+what+they+were+supposed+to%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aShooting+Sports%2d%2dA%0d%0aStaff+was+great%2c+worked+with+all+to+make+sure+was+safe+and+made+the+%22qualifying%22+experience+not+so+stressful%2e+We+had+80%25+earn+the+merit+badges+they+came+for%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aAviation%2d%2dA%2b%0d%0aBoth+instructors+%28both+non+BSA%29+were+great+with+the+scouts%2c+we+had+5+scouts+take+and+pass+the+merit+badge%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aFirst+Year+Camper+Program%2d%2dN%2fA%2c+did+not+have+any+that+went%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aDining+Hall%2d%2dD%2d%0d%0aFood+was+fine%2c+portions+were+fine%2c+it+was+the+other+nondisclosed+confusing+policies+that+made+it+very+frustrating+such+as+if+you+want+a+new+loaf+of+bread+you+have+to+turn+in+the+bag+from+the+old+one+%28never+announced+and+never+explained+the+same+way+for+several+meals%29%2c+you+can+only+refill+the+other+condiments+on+the+table+during+the+period+right+before+they+serve+2nds%2c+%28never+knew+when+this+was+going+to+happen%3f%29+main+dining+hall+staff+was+not+helpful+and+hard+to+get+answers+from%2c+had+to+go+thru+camp+director+to+get+the+real+answers+and+explanations+and+she+was+not+always+in+the+dining+hall+during+meal+times%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aLeaders+Guide+Accuracy%2d%2dD%2b%0d%0aWeek+6+and+camp+staff+has+not+made+adjustments%2c+we+had+several+scouts+that+wanted+to+do+the+mountain+boarding%2c+%28they+were+not+offering+it+that+year+even+though+it+was+in+the+leaders+guide%29+several+other+areas+same+type+of+issues%2c+either+not+offered+or+change+in+number+of+participants+or+times+offered+with+no+notice+on+arrival+at+camp%2c+scouts+usually+found+out+when+they+arrived+at+location%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aAdult+Training+and+other+Adult+programs%2d%2dC%2d%0d%0aThey+did+have+Adult+offerings%2c+but+communication+about+these+was+inaccurate+or+confusing%2e+We+had+several+new+adult+leaders+that+came+with+us+and+passed+on+taking+ITOLS+here+in+council+since+it+was+being+offered+at+summer+camp%2e+It+was+cancelled+the+week+we+were+there+do+to+know+one+being+able+to+teach+it%3f+%28Whole+camp+staff+and+no+one+knows+how+to+teach+Introduction+to+Outdoor+Leader+Skills%2c+yet+they+are+teaching+the+youth+the+same+thing%3f%3f%3f%3f%3f%29%0d%0a%0d%0aGeneral+Thoughts%2c+the+camp+seemed+very+geared+to+the+Mid%2dAmerica+Council+units%2c+we+met+several+troops+that+had+been+coming+there+for+20%2b+years+straight%21+All+of+the+things+discussed+above+seemed+normal+and+fine+to+them+but+they+had+been+coming+there+forever%2e+The+whole+camp+seems+so+focused+on+the+1st+year+campers+that+any+scout+with+more+then+3%2d4%2b+years+is+an+after+thought%2e+We+only+go+to+our+own+council+camp+every+4%2d5+years+%28don%27t+get+me+wrong+our+camp+is+great+but+alot+of+other+activities+during+the+year+take+place+there+so+they+get+board+going+to+Peaceful+Valley+all+the+time%29+and+try+to+get+our+scouts+to+different+states+and+enviroments+and+this+is+the+first+time+we+have+experienced+this%2e+All+of+our+scouts+had+a+good+time+but+vowed+they+would+not+be+voting+for+a+return+trip+to+Camp+Cedars%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aLastly%2c+dont+take+my+word+for+it%2c+please+do+your+own+research+look+for+as+many+reviews+as+possible+and+see+if+any+units+from+your+local+council+have+been+there+and+get+thier+feed+back%2e+Cedars+was+not+horrible+but+the+adults+as+well+voted+we+would+not+be+going+back+either%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aRickey+Meyer%0d%0aScout+Master%0d%0aTroop+308+%0d%0aAurora+Colorado%0d%0a
