PINE+TREE+ENVIRONMENTAL+%26+EDUCATION+CENTER%0d%0a%0d%0aIn+October+of+1993%2c+the+Burlington+County+Council+opened+this+outdoor+facility+in+Tabernacle%2c+which+adjoins+Wharton+State+Forest%2e+It+has+six+heated+cabins%2c+each+equipped+with+six+double+bunk+beds+with+mattresses+for+sleeping+twelve%2e++Each+cabin+has+a+kitchen+equipped+with+a+refrigerator%2dfreezer%2c+sink%2c+cabinets%2c+stove+with+oven%2c+and+a+bathroom+with+hot+showers%2e++Also+there+is+a+two+story+Conference+Center+with+five+bedrooms+and+bath+on+the+second+floor%2e++The+first+level+has+a+large+auditorium%2dstyle+room+with+ten+tables+and+one+hundred+chairs%2e++There+is+also+a+one%2dstory+lodge+building+capable+of+seating+one+hundred+auditorium+style%2c+and+eighty+comfortably+for+eating%2e++There+is+also+a+fully+stocked+Trading+Post+on+the+premises%2c+and+there+is+a+resident+facilities+coordinator+living+at+Pine+Tree%2e++All+reservations+must+be+made+through+the+Scout+Service+Center%2e++Pine+Tree%92s+phone+number+is+268%2d0717%2e+Nearby+is+Batsto+Village%2c+an+historically+preserved+colonial+town%2c+which+has+many+seasonal+weekend+activities%2e+If++you+enjoy+the+outdoors%2c+there+are+endless+trails+through+the+Pinelands%3b+or+try+canoeing+the+Mullica%2c+the+Oswego%2c+the+Batsto%2c+or+the+Wading%2c+four+beautiful+rivers+that+are+sure+to+please+your+sense+of+adventure%2e+Rental+Canoes+are+also+available+at++Pine+Tree%2e+Come+on+out+and+enjoy+the+beauty+of+the+New+Jersey+Pinelands+%2d+America%27s+first+National+Reserve%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a

We+stayed+there+in+the+spring+of+2007+%28or+was+it+2006%29+but+just+found+your+comment+site%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aGreeted+on+arrival+by+a+guy+who+made+it+his+mission+to+%22stare+everyone+down%22+while+repeating+%26+rerepeating+that+no+alcohol+was+allowed+on+site%2e++Parking+was+challenging+in+that+the+cars+arriving+later+had+to+block%2din+the+cars+which+arrived+earlier%2e++We+asked+to+pull+through+a+latched+driveway+gate+to+unload+at+the+cabin+but+were+denied%2e++We+wouldn%27t+have+minded+except+that+throughout+the+weekend+we+saw+plenty+of+others+allowed+through+for+the+same+purpose%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aFacility+was+wide+and+clean%2e+Cabins+were+swept+prior+to+being+assigned%2e+Some+were+musty%2e+Lots+to+do+and+lots+of+firewood%2e%0d%0a2+of+the+7%2d8+cabins+did+not+have+hot+water%2e+Had+to+share+showers+with+our+neighbors%2e++No+attempt+was+make+to+fix+this+problem%2e+%0d%0aKitchens+%26+bathrooms+were+clean%2e+No+Mildew%21%0d%0aNice+fire+ring+at+each+cabin%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aSome+posted+tents+alongside+of+the+cabins%2e+Ranger+was+disgruntled+by+this+but+mumbled+he+knew+of+no+rule+against+it%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAll%2din%2dall%2e%2e%2e4+out+of+5+stars%2e++We%27ll+be+back%2e%0d%0a

Just+happen+to+find+this+site%2c+but+this+place+holds+many+memories+for+me%2c+as+I+spent+many+Saturdays+in+the+early+60%27s+driving+the+camp%27s+old+pickup+and+clearing+the+stumps+from+construction%2e+You+see+this+was+the+beginning+days+of+this+facility%2c+as+volunteer+laymen+and+ministers+from+area+Methodist+churchs+brought+hammer+and+nail+to+help+build+Boys+Camp%2c+an+interracial+camp+for+boys%2e++I+think+every+Wednesday+was+Minister%27s+day%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aOur+first+summer+at+this+facility+was+in+1964%2c+but+since+1948+Boys+Camp+had+been+operating+at+the+Mt%2e+Misery+Conference+center+of+the+Methodist+Church%2c+now+named+Pinelands%2c+I+believe%2e+I+served+as+head+cook+for+several+years%2c+and+the+camp+continued+until+1970%2e++After+that+the+Methodist+church+took+over+operation+as+Camp+Tumethca%2e++In+1993%2d4+the+facility+was+sold+to+the+Burlington+County+Council+and+they+have+continued+to+provide+a+wonderful+place+to+experience%2e++Recently+a+plaque+and+photo+of+my+dad+was+placed+in+the+2+story+lodge+building+named+Hulitt+Lodge+in+his+memory%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aI+hope+you+take+advantage+of+a+beautiful+spot+nestled+in+the+pinelands+of+central+Jersey%2e++%0d%0a
