The 640 acre camp is adjacent to and derives its' name from Mountain Bayou Lake, a cypress wetland; which forms a rich ecosystem supporting a wide variety of plant and animal life such as egrets, gators, beaver, nutria, muskrat. The lake is teeming with crappie, bass and catfish. Its' ten campsites with pavilion, picnic tables and latrine - shower are set among the pine and hardwood. Among its key facilities such as it's 300 person dinning hall, air-conditioned trading post, first aid lodge, scoutmaster lounge and an olympic size swimming pool. Set in the heart of Cajun French Louisiana, food is an important part of our culture. No one has anything any better than our local coffee, hot sauces, rice, sugar, syrup, seafood, etc. Don't return home before you try some of our famous gumbos or boudin.
