This is one of two major summer camps of the Atlanta Area Council, located SE of Atlanta. There are three sub camps: Emmerson, Gordman, & Jamieson. The camp has a swimming pool & large dining hall. One of the major detractions of the camp is the fact that it is the only BSA camp in the USA with a year round BSA Supply Division operated Trading Post. Those kids pay a fortune for everything they need at camp.

Just+completed+another+summer+camp+Bert+Adams+and+had+a+great+time%2e++They+have+begun+a+multi%2dmillion+dollar+renovation+to+include+a+new+waterfront+area+%28completed%29+a+new+swimming+pool+%28indoor%29+and+a+new+dining+hall+are+to+begin+next+year%2e++They+are+upgrading+all+the+facilities+that+area+there%2e++It+is+a+great+place+to+camp%2e++As+to+the+scout+shop+operated+by+National+that+is+there%2c+the+prices%0d%0aare+no+different+than+what+is+in+the+catalog+or+at+any+%0d%0aother+scout+shop%2e++They+are+currently+converting+the+%0d%0aJamieson+side+from+a+primitive+area+into+an+area+that+will+%0d%0ahold+2+camporees+at+the+same+time%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a

Adams+is+not+the+only+camp+with+a+National+store%2e+Camp+LaNoChe+in+Paisley%2c+Fl%2e+has+a+National+store%2e+The+prices+are+the+same+as+the+catalog%2e+The+camp+is+owned+by+the+Central+Florida+council+in+Orlando%2c+Fl%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a

Hats+off+to+Andrew+Miller%2c+the+2001+Scoutcraft+Director%21++He+was+fantastic+all+week%2c+we+were+not+expecting+such+an+enthusiastic+Pioneering+Merit+Badge+program%2e++When+not+at+BASR+he+is+a+student+at+Harvard%2e++I+sure+hope+he+returns+next+summer%2c+we+want+to+put+all+of+our+scouts+through+as+many+Scoutcraft+programs+as+possible%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a%2d+Doug+Roach%0d%0a

Our+Troop+went+the+first+week+for+2002+and+WILL+NOT+BE+BACK%21++The+camp+was+unorganized+%2d+the+behavior+and+conduct+of+some+of+the+troops+in+camp+was+unexcusable%2e++Merit+Badges+were+completed+early+as+were+class+periods%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aWe+did+not+go+to+our+camp+because+of+a+fee+increase%2c+but+you+get+what+you+pay+for%2e++Next+year+we+will+be+back+at+Thunder+Scout+Reservation%21++I+would+not+recommend+this+camp+to+other+troops%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aTroop+12+%2d+Flint+River+Council%0d%0a

bert+adams+has+improved+greaty%2c+i+did+rawhide+the+year+things+were+very+bad%2e%2ei+came+back+this+year+after+hearing+bertadams+had+improved+alot%2e%2eand+i+wasnt+disapointed%2e%2e%2einfact+i+plan+on+gettng+a+job+thier+next+summer%0d%0a

First+week+at+summer+camp+this+year+was+great%21+Had+4+scouts+in+Rawhide+and+they+all+had+a+great+time%2e++A+total+of+19+merit+badges+were+earned+between+the+8+scouts+that+went+to+Summer+Camp%2e+The+new+%22Starlight+Theater%22+was+a+hit%21+The+water+front+has+been+improved+and+a+new+1500+seat+amphitheater+is+scheduled+for+completion+later+this+year%2e++Hats+off+to+program+director+Mickey+Goodson+for+putting+together+some+great+activities+and+programs%2e+My+scouts+had+a+great+time+and+we+have+plans+to+return+next+year%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aMark+Zirpoli%0d%0aSM+Troop+3+%2d+Sweetwater+District%0d%0a

Troop+3+returned+to+Bert+Adams+again+for+Summer+Camp+2004%2e++All+scouts+had+a+great+time%2e++The+new+amphitheater+is+fantastic%21%21++Once+again%2c+program+director+Mickey+Goodson+had+some+great+Merit+Badges+lined+up+as+well+as+other+activities%2e++The+new+climbing+and+rappelling+tower+should+be+open+soon+and+looks+like+it+should+be+a+good+one%2e++Scouts+like+going+to+Bert+Adams+because+bikes+are+allowed+and+it%27s+a+great+way+to+get+around+camp%2e++We+will+return+for+2005%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aMark+Zirpoli%0d%0aSM+%2d+Troop+3%0d%0aSweetwater+District%0d%0aAtlanta+Area+Council%0d%0a

Once+again+Troop+3+returned+to+Bert+Adams+during+the+first+week+of+Summer+Camp+June+5+%2d+11+and+had+a+great+time%21+The+quality+of+the+food+has+changed+for+the+better%2e++The+meals+were+excellent%2e+The+new+Climbing+%2f+Rappelling+tower+is+great%21+Many+different+ways+to+climb+the+wall+and+the+climbing+portion+was+in+the+shade+during+the+time+my+scouts+went%2e++The+new+restroom+%2f+shower+facilities+for+the+men+and+scouts+are+great%21%21++Something+that+Bert+Adams+has+needed+for+a+long+time%2e++The+Staff+this+year+was+great%2e++Once+again+Program+Director+Mickey+Goodson+had+excellent+programs+lined+up+for+the+scouts%2e++The+new+permanent+platforms+for+the+tents+are+excellent%2e++Not+all+campsites+have+the+permanent+platforms+for+all+tents+%2d+the+Ranger+needs+help+from+the+adults+to+build+more+permanent+platforms%2e++Looks+like+my+scouts+want+go+back+in+2006%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aMark+Zirpoli%0d%0aSM+Troop+3%0d%0aSweetwater+District%0d%0aAtlanta+Area+Council%0d%0a

Our+Troop+went+there+in+2011+from+Central+Florida%2e+We+do+not+recommend+this+camp%2e+They+have+some+safety+problems+on+the+rifle+and+shotgun+ranges+as+far+as+layout+and+back+stop%2e+Only+two+Scouts+actually+completed+a+Merit+Badge%2c+and+they+did+not+cover+what+could+have+been+easily+covered+in+the+amount+of+class+time+given%2e+They+need+a+lot+of+improvements%2e+Our+Troop+travels+to+a+lot+a+of+camps+and+this+one+next+to+Woodruff+is+not+on+our+list+for+revisit%2e%0d%0a
