Is a privately owned camp that used to be the scout camp for Bo-Qui or Wapelo (I was never a Scout there and can't remember which)Council. It sits on Lake Wapelo and has access to the lake. The amenities are dated and repairs would help, but it is a wonderful camp that is now managed by a private foundation dedicated to Scouting.

Camp+Wapello+was+begun+in+the+Southern+Iowa+Council%2c+which+merged+with+the+Tall+Corn+Area+Council+in+the+early+1970%27s+to+form+the+Mid%2dIowa+Council%2e++Bo+Qui+was+the+name+of+the+OA+Lodge+that+begun+in+Southern+Iowa+and+merged+with+Mitigwa+to+form+the+Mitigwa+Lodge%2e++Now%2c+the+camp+property+is+privately+owned+by+a+corporation+of+Scouting+Leaders+and+former+Scouting+Leaders+who+lease+its+use+back+to+the+Mid%2dIowa+Council+for+summer+camp+during+each+summer%2e%0d%0a

Camp+Wapello%27s+facilities+arent+really+outdated%2e+Unless+your+counting+the+scout+masters%2e%2e%2e%28j%2fk%29+i%27ve+gone+to+wapello+since+i+was+old+enough+to+go+to+camp+and+now+im+on+staff%2e+i+would+recommend+Wapello+before+any+other+resident+camp+and+the+only+reason+the+camp+is+still+running+is+because+of+mama+gail%27s+and+the+rest+of+Wapello+preservation+board%27s+dedication+to+giving+all+of+us+kids+a+second+home%0d%0a
