High Adventure and first year program, llamas, great outbound opportunities, view of Mt Jefferson, 4500ft elevation, New dining hall
Our+Troop+visited+Summer+of+2006%2e+Absolutely+beautiful+wooded+campsites%2c+Mt+Jefferson+reflects+in+the+lake%2e+Awesome%21+Caring+staff%2c+good+food%2c+sometimes+had+to+fill+up+some+bellies+with+PB%26J%27s%2e+Great+fishing%2c+good+program+areas%2e+The+Llamas+are+no+longer+part+of+the+camp%2e+However%2c+there+are+some+awesome+opportunities+for+hiking+and+outbounds%2e+High+elevation+so+plan+for+cold+evenings+and+possibly+hot+afternoons%2e+It+snowed+us+in+July%21+We+would+highly+recommend+this+camp%21%0d%0a
Our+Troop+has+gone+to+Camp+Pioneer+several+times%2e++It+is+great%2e++Wonderful+campsites%2c+fabulous+lake+with+rowing%2c+canoeing%2c+swimming%2e++Great+food%2c+I+think+this+is+a+boy+scout+experience+that+one+will+always+remember%2e++I+know+I+will+and+all+the+scouts+we+brought+will%2e++Excellent+merit+badge+availability%2c+wonderful+campfire+site+with+view+of+Mt%2e+Jefferson+in+reflection+on+the+lake%2e++%0d%0aStunning%2e++Plus+it+is+truly+in+the+woods+%2d+No+other+distractions+within+a+day%27s+hike%2e++%0d%0a
Best+Scout+camp+I+have+been+to+in+my+entire+scouting+career%2e+Friendly+and+helpful+staff%2c+excellent+food%2c+and+a+wide+array+of+merit+badges+offered%2e+It+really+is+the+jewel+of+the+CPC%0d%0a
Camp+Pioneer+is+a+48+acre+site+leased+from+the+US+Forest+Service%2e+The+site+is+heavily+timbered+and+features+a+lake+and+two+small+ponds+and+several+campsites+and+activity+stations+situated+around+the+lake%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+newest+structures+are+a+dining+hall+and+shower+house%2c+built+in+1998%2e+Other+structures+include+a%0d%0a%91Quartermaster%92+building+serving+as+trading+post%2c+shop%2c+office+and+health+lodge%3b+and+a+small+program+and+meeting+building%2e+Each+campsite+has+tent+platforms%2c+and+the+staff+area+has+a+mixture+of+tent+platforms+and+small+summer%2duse+cabins%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+facility+is+very+remote%2c+and+does+not+have+electric+or+phone+service%2e+Power+is+supplied+to+a+few%0d%0abuildings+by+diesel+generator%2e+Satellite+internet+service+and+a+cellular+phone+signal+amplifier+provide%0d%0aemergency+communications%2e+The+site+is+accessible+mid%2dJune+through+mid%2dOctober%2c+being+covered+by+snow%0d%0athe+rest+of+the+year+and+accessible+only+on+an+unplowed+Forest+Service+road%2e%0d%0a
