I+camped+at+Bradford+in+the+mid+80s+with+Troop+301%0d%0aon+%22Reynolds+Ridge%22%2e+It+was+a+great+camp%2e+I+haven%27t%0d%0abeen+back+in+years+though%2e+Lots+of+hills%2c+creeks%2c%0d%0aand+forest+in+which+to+hike+and+camp%2e+It+was+%0d%0aalways+quiet+and+empty%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aI+have+found+out+that+Camp+Bradford+is+not+owned+%0d%0aby+the+BSA%2c+but+leased+from+a+larger+area+called%0d%0aBradford+Woods+owned+by+Indiana+University+to+%0d%0awhom+it+was+donated+by+the+Bradford+family%2e%0d%0a

The+years+pass+and+a+lease+runs+out%21++Just+a+few+weeks+ago+I+wandered+down+memory+lane+%28also+known+as+Beech+Grove+Rd%29+only+to+find+that+Bradford+Woods+has+taken+control+of+their+property+again%2e++Gone+now+is+the+scout+camp%2c+replaced+by+some+outdoor+program+run+by+Bradford+Woods%2e++Don%27t+get+me+wrong%2c+I+do+respect+the+programming+they+offer%2c+but+having+been+a+former+caretaker+of+the+scout+camp+I+was+sad+to+see+it+go%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0a

This+camp+never+belonged+to+the+BSA%2c+it+was+on+lease+from+the+Bradford+Family+Trust%2e++In+2002+the+trust+was+being+managed+by+Indiana+University+and+the+lease+expired%2e++IU+declined+to+re%2dlease+the+property+to+the+BSA+so+this+is+no+longer+a+scout+camp%2e+%0d%0a

FYI%2c+You+are+still+able+to+camp+here+though+as+of+Sept+%2d2004%2e+Our+Troop+just+got+back%2e+They+still+allow+Scouts+there%2e+You+are+just+on+your+own%2c+with+a+ranger+there+as+well%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a

yup%2c+going+there+this+weekend%2e+it%27s+way+closer+to+Mooresville+then+Martinsville+as+the+map+link+would+suggest%2e+it%27s+one+of+my+favorite+places%2e+Al+White+trail+is+hard+to+find+but+not+completely+impossible%2e%0d%0a

North+End+Camping%0d%0a+%0d%0aUntil+the+mid+1990%81%8cs%2c+Bradford+Woods%81f+north+end+property+was+leased+by+the+Boy+Scouts%2c+who+called+it+Camp+Bradford%2e+Today%2c+the+north+end+offers+a+great+primitive+camping+experience%2c+along+with+thousands+of+acres+to+explore+and+more+than+six+miles+of+hiking+trails%2e+Visitors+can+camp+up+on+top+of+the+hill+in+the+old+Boy+Scout+patrol+areas%2c+can+go+down+the+hill+and+camp+in+the+%81gflats%2c%81h+or+can+set+off+backpacking+and+camp+somewhere+in+the+wooded+acres%2e+Water+is+available+at+the+entrance+gate+to+the+north+end%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a
