I+made+a+%22pilgrimage%22+to+Little+Sioux+back+in+May+of+this+year+%282010%29+to+pay+my+respects+and+see+the+improvements%2e+I+was+part+of+the+%22demo+camp+patrol%22+provided+by+Troop+59+of+Harlan%2c+IA+for+the+original+camp+dedication+back+in+%2270+%28year%3f%29+and+someone+who+camped+there+as+a+Scout%2c+later+as+a++staffer+for+Amikaro+II%2c+and+still+later+as+a++Scouter+with+his+own+troop%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThere+are+now+2+tornado%2dproof+above%2dground+bunker%2dstyle+buildings+in+use+%2d+one+is+the+camp+office%2c+etc+and+another+a+multi%2duse+facility+%2d+and+a+third+has+funds+for+it+pledged+and+planning+is+underway+if+not+actual+building+by+this+time%2e+A+very+respectful+open%2dsided+chapel+was+built+at+the+site+of+the+cabin+where+the+boys+died%2c+with+labor+provided+by+volunteers+from+New+York+City+who+were+part+of+the+New+York+City+Remembers+project+started+after+9%2f11%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+lake+front+area+looks+fantastic%2c+a+definite+cut+above+the+rest%2e+There+are+hills+and+dales+galore%2c+so+much+so+that+my+son%27s+Big+Horn+Mountains+backpacking+group+practiced+there+for+a+week%2dend+to+get+in+shape+before+their+trip+west+back+in+the+day%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aI+really+wish+Mid%2dAmerica+would+develop+this+into+a+real+long%2dterm+camp+instead+of+just+special+event+use%2e+Until+then+take+your+troop+there+and+backpack+through+the+valleys+amongst+the+Loess+hills+that+make+up+the+camp%2e%0d%0a
