What+a+great+camp%21+Went+as+provisionals+and+loved+the+food+%2d+cooked+by+a+man+who+owns+a+BQ+business%2e+The+staff+was+very+accomidating+and+the+merit+badges+were+plenty%2e%2e%2e+art+%2f+music+as+bonuses%2e+There+were+two+merit+badges+that+were+doubled+with+something+else%2e+Sailing+%26+Motorboating+beats+a+camp+with+a+pool%2e+A+ferry+takes+you+a+mile+across+Huntington+Lake+to+get+to+the+camp%2e%0d%0a
Our+Troop+drives+460+miles+one%2dway+to+Camp+Oljato+every+year%2c+for+good+reason%2e+The+camp+is+great%2c+and+the+boys+have+FUN%21+The+program+is+well+organized+and+has+an+enthusiastic+staff%2e+The+food+is+really+great%2e+The+setting+is+almost+ideallic%2e+At+7000+feet+in+the+Sierra+mountains%2c+you+really+get+the+feeling+of+being+out+in+the+wilderness%2e+It%27s+a+great+experience+for+the+boys+and+that%27s+why+we+go+back+every+year%2e%0d%0a
In+addition+to+a+waterfront+that+offers+sailing+as+well+as+the+usual+swimming%2c+Oljato+also+offers+a+COPE+course+and+a+rock+climing+range%2c+as+well+as+all+the+usual+ranges%2e++Our+troop+just+got+back+from+our+time+there+and+all+had+a+great+time%2e%0d%0a
Camp+Oljato+is+the+BEST+BSA+camp+in+California%2c+hands+down%2e+The+food+is+amazing%2c+the+staff+is+very+enthusiastic%2c+and+my+whole+experience+there+was+just+incredible%2e+Their+are+plenty+of+merit+badges+to+earn+and+so+many+ways+to+have+fun%2c+i+would+recommend+it+to+any+scout%2c+go+see+what+Camp+Oljato+is+all+about%2e%0d%0a
Last+July+2011+our+troop+went+to+Camp+Oljato+and+had+a+bad+experience%2e++All+%28scouts+and+adults%29got+severe+food+poisoning%2c+the+camp+was+filthy%2c+and+the+camp+was+understaffed%2e++Afterwards%2c+a+parent+had+to+call+the+health+center+in+North+Carolina+before+the+camp+agreed+to+toss+out+all+their+old+food+and+clean+up+%28the+council+originally+said+the+person+in+charge+was+on+vacation+and+would+look+into+the+complaint+when+they+returned+in+a+few+weeks%29%2e++Luckily%2c+none+of+the+families+asked+for+their+money+back+or+it+would+have+bankrupt+our+troop%2e%0d%0a
Umm+had+a+very+different+experience+than+the+last+post+which+does+not+even+seem+to+be+about+the+same+camp+or+state+as+the+rest+of+the+posts%2e+Checked+the+fresno+county+health+department+to+double+check+and+there+was+no+food+poisioning%2e%0d%0a++Olympicade+is+a+great+and+unique+feature+of+this+camp%3b+can%27t+wait+to+go+back%2e%0d%0a
Had+first+experience+with+Camp+Oljato+July+6+to+12%2e+The+camp+is+a+little+more+rustic+than+some+Scout+camps+%2dwhich+adds+to+the+feeling+of+being+in+the+wilderness%2e+The+food+was+plentiful+and+ranged+in+quality+from+very+good+to+average+%2ddepended+on+the+meal%2e+The+program+offerings+are+solid+and+the+camp+staff+work+hard+to+keep+the+Scouts+accountable+for+completing+the+requirements+as+written+%28as+opposed+to+some+camps+which+short%2dcut+the+reqs%29%2e+Although+they+did+cut+some+mb+offering%27s+due+to+staff+shortages%2e+The+health+officer+was+on+the+ball+and+knowledgeable%2e+The+camp+offers+their+unique+patch+system+for+returning+campers%2e+An+OA+re%2ddedication+ceremony+was+held+during+the+week%2c+as+was+an+Eagle+Scout+ice+cream+social%2e+As+for+an+overall+rating+%2dthe+adults+and+scouts+rated+the+camp+a+solid+8+of+10%2e+I+would+have+like+to+have+seen+more+offerings+for+adults+during+the+week%2e+Camp+held+four+campfire+during+the+week%2e+The+campfires+were+good%2c+but+left++less+troop+time%2e+However%2c+a+troop+could+opt%2dout+of++one+or+two+of+the+campfires+if+they+desired%2e+I+recommend+Camp+Oljato%21%0d%0a
An+amazing+camp+experience%21+Worthy+of+checking+out%2e+However+it+is+a+bit+dusty+there+so+dust+sometimes+gets+into+your+eyes%2e+Food+is+a+bit+lacking+however+%28they+serve+to+little+of+it%29%3b+but+overall+an+amazing+experience%2e%0d%0a
