Camp Sequoyah is nestled among 1,440 acres of woodlands in east central Alabama, near Cheaha State Park. The centerpiece of Sequoyah in its 80 acre lake. Lake Cross provides the finest in boating, Kayaking,canoeing, swimming and other fun-filled aquatic activities. Camp Sequoyah also offers: rappelling, mountain biking and an excellent shooting sports program. Six weeks of traditional Scout Camp is offered at Sequoyah each summer. Troops may also enjoy weekend camping at Sequoyah throughout the year.

Our troop attended Sequoyah in 2000. Nice camp, but pretty spread out (long walks). Very good camp director. More posion ivy in this camp than any other I've ever seen.

Camp+Sequoyah+is+the+best+in+Scout+Camping%2e+They+have+developed+more+programs+than+many+other+camps+to+address+the+needs+of+scouts+of+all+ages%2e+Camp+Sequoyah+is+the+only+camp+that+I+have+ever+attended+that+produces+a+daily+newsletter+to+update+troops+on+goings+on+as+well+as+display+digital+pictures+from+every+days+activities%2e+Camp+Sequoyah+sits+on+1447+acres+on+a+beautiful+80+acre+lake+in+the+shadow+of+Alabama%27s+Mount+Cheaha+State+Park%2e+They+utilize+the+land+and+the+park+to+provide+Moutain+bike+Trails%2c+great+hiking+and+incredible+scout+craft+programs%2e+They+host+an+Adventure+Valley+obstacle+course+that+is+is+incomparable%2e+The+camp+operates+in+the+pure+Patrol+method+style%2c+requiring+SPL%27s+and+youth+leadership+to+take+an+active+role+in+their+troop+allowing+the+Adult+leaders+to+be+just+what+they+should+be%2d+Adults+who+supervise+and+help+but+let+the+boys+do+the+work+to+become+better+men%2e+I+am+proud+to+say+that+I+have+been+attending+this+camp+since+1981+and+have+traveled+and+seen+many+neighboring+camps%2c+this+one+is+at+the+top%21%21+%0d%0aDave+%0d%0a

I+have+been+attending+this+camp+for+9+years%2e+It+is+the+place+to+be%2e+It+is+filled+with+activities+and+lots+of+merit+badges%2e+It+has+the+most+incredible+staff+you+will+find+anywhere%2e+I+have+also+worked+on+the+staff+for+4+years+and+in+doing+that+I+can+say+they+take+pride+in+there+work%2e+I+would+take+my+troop+there%2e%2e%2e+I+have+visited+other+camps+and+none+compare+to+the+atmosphere+of+rustic+camping+style+you+receive+there%2e+When+you+eat+your+first+meal+at+the+camp+at+the+family+style+dinning%2c+you+can+tell+you+love+it%2e+I+recommend+anyone+to+come+and+see+camp+Sequoyah+and+stay+a+week%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0a

If+you+don%27t+mind+outhouses+%28shut+the+lid+or+you+won%27t+be+able+to+sleep+because+of+the+smell%29%2c+outside+showers+%28burning+hot+until+the+propane+runs+out%29%2c+and+miles+of+walking+up+and+down+the+hills%2c+go+to+Sequoyah%2e+Just+make+sure+you+don%27t+get+on+the+staff%27s+bad+side%21%0d%0aMatt%2c+Drew%2c+and+Mouse+are+truly+outstanding+%2e%2e%2e+unfortunately%2c+there+are+several+weak+staff+members+as+well%2e%0d%0a

Rained+all+week+this+year%2c+but+our+boys+seemed+to+have+a+great+time%2e+Food+was+pretty+good%2c+especially+Thursday+for+the+adult+leaders%21%21%21%21+Waterfront+leadership+was+exceptional%21+Does+have+a+lot+of+poison+ivy%2c+but+the+thunder+pots+are+gone%21%21%21%0d%0a

Camp+Sequoyah+has+a+newly+sodded+parade+ground%2c+flush+toilets+in+all+of+its+campsites%2c+in%2dsite+showers+that+have+never+run+cold+on+me+or+my+troop%2e++The+program+at+Sequoyah+has+grown+and+continues+to+amaze+me%2e++They+are+now+offering+Archaelogy+Merit+Badge+and+are+actually+digging+in+some+of+the+old+homesites+that+used+to+be+on+the+plantation+site%2e++The+Older+Boy+Program+is+strong+and+the+Waterfront+and+Shooting+Sports+are+the+best+anywhere%2e++My+troop+has+traveled+to+Georgia%2c+all+around+Alabama%2c+and+even+in+to+Florida+and+North+Carolina%2c+and+Sequoyah+seems+to+be+the+best+camp+for+good+weather%2c+incredible+food%2c+great+facilities%2c+and+just+good+overall+scouting%2e%0d%0a

Our+troop%2c+from+the+Florida+Panhandle%2c+attended+Camp+Sequoyah+early+June+2007%2e++I+have+to+say+that+it+was+a+very+impressive+operation%2e++Food%3a+plentiful%3b+nobody+went+hungry+and+the+scouts+love+eating+family+style+because+it+means+no+waiting+in+line%21+Compact+camp%3a++very+easy+to+get+around%2c+yet+very+wooded+so+you+didn%27t+feel+like+you+were+on+top+of+other+campsites+or+program+areas%2e++Great+schedule%3a++Scouts+loved+the+free+time+and+the+fun+afternoon+troop+activities%2e++The+staff+was+awesome%21++Mostly+college+students+teaching+in+their+field+of+study+or+scouters+teaching+what+they+know+well%2e++It+was+obvious+from+the+beginning+that+they+had+received+some+kind+of+customer+service+training%2e++We+felt+%27catered+to%27+from+the+first+five+minutes+we+were+there+until+the+moment+we+drove+away%2e++I+can%27t+say+enough+about+the+staff%21%21%21++%0d%0aThe+only+drawback+noted+at+Camp+Sequoyah+is+the+lack+of+high+adventure+such+as+C%2eO%2eP%2eE%2e+although+they+did+offer+the+Mt+Man+program%2e++%0d%0aWe+have+always+gone+to+a+different+camp+each+year%2c+but+this+camp+really+makes+us+rethink+that+tradition%21%0d%0a%0d%0a
