Located about 6 miles northeast of Kankakee, Illinois this park encompasses 4,000 acres stretching 11 miles on both sides of the river. Camping is available at three campgrounds with 373 sites plus a Youth Camp Area. Chippewa Campground has river access. Two Boat Ramps, trails for hiking, biking, skiing plus more trails for horses and snowmobiles. Rent a horse at 815/939-0309, rent a a bike at 815/932-3337, rent a canoe at 815/932-6555. Hiking along Rock Creek for canyons and waterfall. Hunting in season, fishing, canoeing, boating, hiking, biking, horseback, camping. This is one of Illinois' top parks.
