Channahan State Park is located in Channahon, Illinois. Channahon is an Indian word meaning merging of waters. The DuPage, Kankakee, and DesPlaines rivers all meet here as well as the historic I&M Canal (Illinois & Michigan). You can canoe 15 miles on the I&M Canal to Gebhard Woods State Park. There is picnicking, fishing, and a walk-in campsite available at the park. Also Locks #6 and 7, plus a Locktender's House have been restored. Groups can arrange tours.
