This is a small park with lots of possibilities. It has a primitive walk-in campground, 3 fishing ponds, plus fishing in Nettle Creek and the historic I&M Canal. There is the possibility of canoeing the 15 mile canoe trail on the I&M Canal between Channahon State Park and Gebhard Woods State Park. Also the 61 mile I&M Canal Recreation Trail is ideal for bicycling in the warm months and snowmobiling in the winter months. Downtown Morris is within easy walking distance with restaurants, stores, etc. There is also a community swimming pool not far away. The first weekend after the 4th of July, a Dulcimer Festival is held at the park.
