If+I+was+a+teacher+and+it+was+a+test%2c+I+would+give+it+a+F%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2d%2e+The+food+was+terrible%2e+They+served+cooked+carrots+and+rice+for+almost+every+meal%2e+I+think+the+best+meal+I+had+was+probably+the+Oatmeal+I+had+for+breakfast%2e+It+also+rained+the+whole+time%2e+And+I+know+i%27m+a+Boy+Scout+and+all+but+I+think+all+the+boys+in+my+troop+would+agree+with+me+when+I+say+all+the+counselors+were+just+plain+immature%2e+The+counsilors+also+made+us+sing+little+kid+songs+that+made+them+look+immature%2e+If+your+a+beginning+scout+I+would+not+recommend+this+camp+for+you+or+anyone%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aDarren+Burrows%0d%0aBoy+Scout%0d%0aTroop+212%0d%0aColumbus%2c+NE%0d%0a%0d%0a

My+troop+did+not+realize+how+good+we+had+it+by+attending+Hale+Scout+Resourvation+in+Twin+Arrows+District%2c+Talahina%2c+Oklahoma+the+past+six+years%2e++We+wanted+something+different+so+we+decided+to+attend+Ben+Delatour+this+year%2e++Camp+facilities+are+very+rustic+which+were+tolerable%2e++Food+was+tolerable%2e++However%2c+program+was+severely+deficient%2c+in+some+cases+non%2dexistant%2e%2e%2elacking+equipment+and+knowledgable+staff%2e++Campfire+programs+were+geared+more+to+cub+scout+level+and+boys+were+very+disappointed%2e++Severe+issues+on+medicine+handleing%2e++An+EMT+distributed+meds+to+scouts%2c+gave+wrong+meds+to+wrong+scouts%2c+would+not+release+meds+to+scoutmasters+or+adults+but+had+scouts+sign+out+for+their+own+meds+at+end+of+camp%2e%2e%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aWhile+our+troop+had+a+good+time%2c+it+was+not+because+of+the+camp+or+program+provided+but+was+due+to+other+troops+joining+ours+and+covering+merit+badge+requirements+each+evening+during+free+time%2e++Please+feel+free+to+contact+me+for+more+details%2e++Our+troop+will+not+be+returning+to+this+camp%21%0d%0a%0d%0aMartin+Cranke%0d%0aScoutmaster%2c+Troop+10%0d%0aTwin+Arrows+District%2c+Indian+Nations+Council%0d%0aTulsa%2c+OK%0d%0awww%2easburyscouts%2eorg%0d%0a+%0d%0a%0d%0a

Our+troop+attended+BDSR+in+2005%2e++The+camp+and+facilities+are+adaquate%2c+along+with+the+Merit+Badges+and+other+programs%2e++However%2c+we+also+agree+with+the+others+that+the+food+service+was+such+a+HUGE+negative+for+the+camp+that+we+will+not+return+to+this+camp+until+it+improves%2e%0d%0a

Our+troop+went+to+BDSR+this+year+and+had+a+great+time%2e+We+did+the+Soaring+Eagle+camp+where+the+boys+cooked+their+own+food%2e+The+programs+were+good+and+the+campsites+were+good%2e+From+communications+with+other+troops+that+have+done+BDSR%2c+most+had+a+problem+with+the+food+at+Camp+Jeffrey+with+the+dining+hall%2e+My+boys+have+discovered+they+like+camps+with+patrol+cooking+much+better+than+dining+halls%2e+The+rock+climbing+was+excellent+as+was+the+COPE+course%2e+We+would+return%2e%0d%0a

Just+finished+camp%2c+excellent+experience%2c+very+in+tune+staff%2c+and+if+merit+badge+requirements+were+not+met%2c+the+scout+did+not+get+a+gimme%2e++Very+excellent+food%2c+and+a+good+diverse+program+%0d%0a

Camp+had+a+new+food+manager+this+year%2c+and+the+food+was+great%2e++The+climbing+merit+badge+program+was+very+good%2e++Several+adults+and+kids+attempted+to+catch+fish+with+no+luck%2c+lake+is+a+25+minute+walk+from+camp+site%2e++No+flushing+toilets+except+at+the+adult+showers%2c+which+were+a+15+minute+walk+from+our+camp+site%2e++Beautiful+mountain+environment%2c+but+did+rain+most+afternoons+for+15+minutes%2e++Staff+had+a+positive+attitude%2e++The+biggest+negative+was+that+the+camp+medic+has+to+distribute+medications+to+adults+and+kids+daily%2e%0d%0a

We+took+a+big+group+to+BDLT+in+July+of+2007%2c+and+had+a+terrific+time%2e++The+staff+was+very+young%2c+and+that+did+translate+to+some+program+flaws+in+terms+of+delivering+the+merit+badges%2c+and+other+organizational+concerns%2e++We+found+the+food+to+be+excellent+as+far+as+taste+and+variety%2e++%28Camp+Jeffrey%29%2e++The+problem+we+experienced+with+the+food+service+was+the+delivery%2e++The+food+was+served+%22family+style%22+with+servings+sent+to+tables%2c+rather+than+a+%22buffet%22+approach%2e++The+staff+honestly+expected+our+hungry+boys+to+prowl+the+other+tables+for+seconds%2e++Some+of+our+boys+were+outgoing+enough+to+do+that%2c+but+many+were+shy+and+went+hungry+at+a+lot+of+the+meals%2e++Complaints+to+the+staff+yielded+the+information+that+%22food+is+being+thrown+out+at+every+meal%2c+they+just+have+to+work+the+program%22%2e++I%27m+not+sure+why+it+was+too+much+to+ask+to+have+the+staff+change+their+approach+when+%22Plan+A%22+clearly+was+not+working%2e++As+far+as+program+breadth%2c+it+was+excellent%2c+with+many+unique+and+unusual+program+offerings%2e++Both+the+%22first+year%22+and+the+%22high+adventure%22+programs+were+excellent%2e++White%2dwater+rafting+was+a+big+hit%2e++The+walk+to+the+adult+showers+is+a+long+one%2c+particularly+for+those+not+acclimated+to+the+high+altitude+%28all+of+us%29%2e++Staying+hydrated+is+a+constant+concern%2c+the+staff+does+a+good+job+of+reminding+everyone+to+drink%2e++I+had+a+nosebleed+every+day%2c+I+observed+quite+a+few+other+noses+bleeding%2e++We+sighted+a+bear+family%2c+which+was+exciting%2e++We+had+a+bear+visit+to+our+campsite%2c+which+was+just+a+bit+too+exciting%2c+as+the+bears+ransacked+some+of+our+stuff%2e++Had+we+followed+the+strict+%22bear+bunker%22+guidelines%2c+we+might+have+avoided+the+incident%2e++We+had+%22smellables%22+in+the+latrine%2e+Thank+God+no+one+had+anything+smellable+in+any+of+the+tents%2e++The+weather+was+a+big%2c+huge+PLUS%2e%2e%2eit+was+very+pleasant+all+the+time%2e++Also%2c+this+is+truly+God%27s+country%2e%2e%2ethe+views+are+incredible%2e++Even+the+boys+noticed+and+remarked+on+the+beauty+of+the+setting%2e++Flag+ceremonies+and+campfires+well%2ddone+and+well%2dreceived%2e++Overall%2c+we+found+it+to+be+an+excellent+experience%2e%2e%2eUNFORGETTABLE%2e++I+doubt+we%27ll+go+back%2c+but+only+because+it+is+so+far+for+us+%28Illinois%29%2e++Our+EMT+did+an+excellent+job+with+administering+the+meds%2e%0d%0a

this+is+a+great+camp+we+went+there+last+summer+and+had+a+great+time+rock+climming+real+rocks+canoeing+nice+cold+lake+and+the+overnight+trip+up+the+moutain+was+awesome%0d%0a

My+troop+attended+BDLT+again+in+2013%2e++We+had+a+great+time+and+would+go+back+again+over+our+hot+boring+camps+in+Oklahoma+every+time%2e++This+camp+had+great+scenery+and+scout+skill+instruction%2e++The+food+was+very+good+too%2e++They+just+constructed+showers+and+flush+toilets+near+the+campsites+so+scouts+who+do+not+like+scouting+can+have+a+toilet+and+shower+now%2e++Monster+Mountain+is+a+fun+hike+and+gets+some+cell+phone+reception%2e++Take+a+side+trip+and+go+white+water+rafting+on+the+Cache+La+Poudre+river+in+front+of+the+cabin+of+Chuck+Norris+and+drive+up+to+the+top+of+Mt%2e+Evans%21%0d%0a
