A beautiful 1:10 000 scale orienteering map covering Ransburg and some of the surrounding Hoosier National Forest (total of 3.5 sq. km) is available from Indiana Crossroads Orienteering (local orienteering club) and is also sold by the Crossroads of America Council.

My+troop+attended+Ransburg+last+year+for+the+first+time%2e++We+have+attended+several+other+camps+in+the+past%2e++Ransburg+is+simply+one+of+the+best+camps+we+have+ever+attended%2e++The+program+and+merit+badge+classes+are+top+notch%2e++The+counselors+are+adults+or+young+adults%2e++They+do+not+have+classes+taught+by+kids%2e++We+are+going+back+again+this+year%2e++Great+camp%2e++Good+chow+hall%2e++Only+complaint+would+be+the+need+for+more+shower+facilities%2e+%0d%0a

Our+troop+has+attended+ransburg+every+year+for+the+past+15+years%2e+They+staff+is+AMAZING+and+program+includes+Horseback+riding+at+the+ranch%2c+shotgun%2c+rifle%2c+COPE%2c+Ecology%2c+Handicraft%2c+Scoutcraft%2cand+Aquatics+%28With+access+to+Lake+Monroe%29%2eDining+hall+food+is+great+and+served+family+style%2e+I+would+reccomend+this+camp+to+everyone++%0d%0a

somewhat+good+camp%2e+great+classes%2e+kind+of+a+gross+lake+though%2e+swim+instrustors+had+to+paint+their+nails+or+they+would+turn+yellow%2e+%0d%0a

My+troop+attended+Ransburg+for+the+first+time+in+2011%2e+It+was+our+first+out+of+council+summer+camp+experience%2e+The+boys+had+a+great+time%2e%2e%2eespecially+in+the+horsemanship+class%2e+%0d%0aI+wasn%27t+thrilled+with+the+waterfront%2e+I+thought+that+some+of+those+who+were+doing+swim+checks+were+stricter+than+those+who+were+right+next+to+them%2e+Therefore%2c+some+of+our+boys+did+not+pass+the+swim+test+and+had+to+spend+the+first+day+of+class+in+Instructional+swim+rather+than+taking+their+merit+badge+class%2e+They+did+eventually+all+move+into+their+class+and+was+able+to+earn+the+merit+badges%2e+It+was+just+frustrating+for+the+youth+who+had+already+passed+swim+tests+in+previous+years+as+well+as+having+earned+the+swimming+merit+badge%2e+%0d%0aAs+for+the+first+year+camper+program%2e%2e%2eI+really+wasn%27t+impressed%2e+I+had+hoped+that+the+boys+would+earn+their+totin+chip+and+fireman+chit+at+least%2e+But+it+didn%27t+happen%2e+%0d%0aOur+scoutmaster+said+that+some+of+the+youth+staff+who+ate+dinner+with+our+unit+would+take+more+than+their+fair+share+of+the+food+causing+food+shortages+for+our+boys%2e+Family+style+dining+will+only+work+if+everyone+takes+an+equal+amount+of+food%2e+There+was+little+opportunity+for+seconds%2e%0d%0aOverall%2c+I+think+the+experience+was+a+good+one+and+I+will+recommend+that+our+troop+return+to+Ransburg+in+a+few+years%2e%0d%0aBarb+Weber%0d%0aTroop+376+Committee+Chair%0d%0aLincoln+Heritage+Council%0d%0aLouisville%2c+KY%0d%0a

We+just+returned+from+Ransburg%2e+This+was+my+second+time+there+and+the+experience+were+great%2c+compared+to+other+camps+so+far%2e+The+staff+was+very+helpful+plus+with+this+camp+they+transport+the+health+impaired+scouts+and+leaders+to+and+from+camp+site+and+classes%2e+The+programs+are+run+by+older+boys+and+girls+which+the+boys+relate+to+better%2eThe+camp+sites+all+have+platform+tents+a+latrine+and+running+water+in+camp%2e+The+dining+hall+was+good+%2cthey+split+scouts+into+2+group+for+meals+which+is+served+family+style%2c+which+I+like+cause+you+walk+in+and+sit+down+at+your+table%2c+Less+time+waiting+to+dine+which+is+a+big+plus+when+the+temp+was+in+the+90s%2eOver+all+the+programs+and+staff+gets+a+A%2b%2b%2b+from+this+Troop+%0d%0aMichael+Doud%0d%0aScoutmaster+Troop+4065%0d%0aAustin%2c+In%0d%0aLincoln+Heritage+Council%0d%0aLou%2cKy%0d%0a%0d%0a
