New+shower+house+for+scouts+and+scouters%2c+mess+hall+equipment+recently+upgraded%2c+constant+improvements+in+the+works%2e++Nice+swimming+pool+%28operated+during+summer+camp%29+and+campgrounds+are+open+year%2dround+%28all+types+%2e%2e%2e+cabins+to+primitive%29%2e++Located+next+to+John+Brayn+State+park+which+has+nice+hiking+trails+and+a+good+gorge+for+climbing+and+rappelling%2e++Also+Camp+Birch+has+a+rappelling+tower%2e%0d%0a

Tecumseh+Council+is+offering+for+the+second+year+a+high%2dadventure+summer+camp+for+youth+14+years+of+age+and+older%2c+based+on+Venturing%2e+Ranger+Quest+has+it%27s+own+web+page+at+http%3a%2f%2frocko63%2etripod%2ecom%2frangerquest%0d%0a

I+was+very+disappointed+with+the+fee+structure+for+this+camp+for+out+of+council+scouts%2e++We+used+up+50+per+cent+of+our+budget+for+the+year+in+one+weekend+there%2e++We+went+in+the+winter+%28December+2001%29+to+hike+the+Bushwack%2e++I+was+given+assurances+that+because+we+were+scouts+we+would+be+dealt+with+fairly%2e++When+it+came+time+to+pay+we+were+charged+an+outrageous+fee+for+less+than+acceptable+accommodations%2e++We+had+such+a+bad+experience+last+year+that+this+year+we+decided+to+do+the+Bushwack+as+a+day+hike+with+no+overnight+stay%2e%0d%0a

A+new+High+COPE+course+was+built+in+2004+with+constant+improvements+to+the+low+COPE+course+as+well%2e+Look+for+weekend+COPE+offerings+to+increase+over+the+next+few+years%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aSummer+Camp+has+been+excellent+the+last+few+years+with+a+solid+program%2c+good+food+and+nice+facilities%2e+I+highly+recommend+this+camp%2e%0d%0a

Summer+camp+continues+to+be+excellent+and+is+continually+improving%2e++There+is+a+full+range+of+activities+from+Tecumseh+Island+%28first+year+scout+program%29+to+Mad+River+Trace+%28an+older+scout+3+year+program+set+in+the+1700+and+1800s%29+and+including+COPE%2c+climbing%2c+shooting+sports%2c+handicrafts%2c+outdoor+skills%2c+nature+ecology%2c+a+Geo%2dcaching+%28GPS%29+course%2c+and+aquatics%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aAll+fees+and+programs+are+posted+on+the+web+site+which+is+up%2dto%2ddate+%28http%3a%2f%2fwww%2etecumsehcouncilbsa%2eorg%29%2e+Many+programs+are+offered+year%2dround%2e%0d%0a

Our+troop+stayed+at+Camp+Birch+in+April+2010%2e+The+primary+purpose+of+our+trip+was+to+visit+the+U%2eS%2e+Air+Force+Museum%2e++Camp+Birch+is+only+about+1%2f2+hour+drive+from+the+museum+so+it+worked+out+perfectly+for+us%2e++The+fee+seemed+to+be+in%2dline+with+other+camps+for+out+of+council+units%2e++The+camp+master+was+friendly+and+helpful%2e++I+would+recommend+this+camp+for+anyone+just+looking+for+a+place+to+camp+while+visiting+the+museum%2e++We+didn%27t+use+any+of+the+other+facilities+so+I+can%27t+comment+on+them%2e%0d%0a

I+am+a+UC+in+the+local+council%2c+and+a+ASM+in+a+Troop%2e+Camp+Birch+is+constantly+improving+the+Camp+program%2c+with+the+Pioneer+program+for+Older+Scouts%2c+to+the+Tecumseh+Island+for+new+Scouts%2e+there%27s+MT+bikes+with+trails+in+the+adjacent+JB+State+Park%2c+and+Kayaks+for+the+camp+pond%2flake%2e++We+have+increased+our+Black+Powder+Rifle+and+Shooting+Sports+staff%2fequipment+as+well%2e++Both+of+my+children+have+staffed+for+4%2b+years+and+they+love+it%2e%0d%0a
