A nice boy scout summer camp program.
Yes my Troop had gone to Camp Stigwandish last year and we had a great time and cann't wait to next year!
The+camp+is+excellent+but+the+on%2dsite+scout+reps+have+declined+over+the+years%21+I+have+been+going+to+Stig+since+1993+and+this+past+trip+we+spent+with+no+potable+water+within+a+quarter+mile+%2e%2e%2e%2e+The+camp+officer+didn%27t+know+how+to+turn+it+on%21+We+being+good+scouts+came+%22prepared%22+but+it+did+put+a+damper+on+the+long+weekend%21%0d%0a
This+is+a+nice+camp%2e++The+Greater+Western+Reserve+Council+is+putting+money+back+into+the+facility%2e++The+ranger+and+caretaker+is+really+committed+to+keeping+the+facility+in+good+shape%2e++Dining+hall+meals+for+summer+camp+are+some+of+the+best%2e++A+little+bit+on+the+small+side%2c+but+you+really+don%27t+notice+it%2e++Lacking+a+pool%2c+which+would+be+a+super+asset+and+draw%2e++Staff+has+a+friendly+personality%2e%0d%0a
Stigwandish+is+a+phenomenal+camp%2e++It+is+superbly+maintained+by+a+top+notch+ranger+staff%2c+run+by+an+energetic+camp+director+with+a+well+trained+staff+and+boasts+an+impressive+summer+camp+program%2e+++I+haven%27t+been+to+a+better+camp+in+20+years+of+Scouting%2e%0d%0a
The+Greater+Western+Reserve+Council+has+suspended+summer+operations+at+Camp+Stigwandish+pending+necessary+capital+improvements+to+the+property%2e++There+is+speculation+that+the+camp+will+reopen+for+summer+camp%2c+but+not+until+at+least+2010%2e++It+does+remain+available+for+weekend+use%2e++The+camp+facilities+are+still+well+maintained+thanks+to+the+work+of+many+volunteers+and+the+Camp+Ranger%2c+who+is+a+true+workaholic%21++It+is+definitely+still+a+great+camping+destination%2e%0d%0a
Camp+Stigwandish+is+a+very+beautiful+camp%2e+The+grounds+are+covered+with+trees%2c+the+campsites+are+large+and+private%2c+and+the+whole+thing+is+manicured+to+perfection+by+the+camp+Ranger%2e++THE+SUMMER+CAMP+PROGRAM+IS+STILL+SUSPENDED+PENDING+UPGRADES+TO+THE+MESS+HALL%27S+GRAY+WATER+SYSTEM%2e++The+camp+is+still+open+for+weekend+camping%2e++The+lakes+have+some+of+the+best+fishing+due+to+the+lack+of+pressure+from+not+having+a+summer+camp+program%2e++The+five+mile+White+trail+is+a+very+nice+hike+for+all+ages+of+scouts%2e++Our+troop+uses+the+camp+regularly+and+enjoys+it+tremendously%21%0d%0a%0d%0a
Camp+Stigwandish+is+getting+some+much+needed+attention%2e+Right+now+they+are+in+the+middle+of+putting+stone+brick+on+all+of+the+fronts+of+all+the+cabins%2e+They+are+rebuilding+the+Handicraft+pavilion%2e+They+are+also+fixing+the+COPE+Corse%2e+Come+out+and+show+your+support+in+fixing+Camp+Stigwandish+on+the+beaver+days%2e+Show+your+support+in+fixing+Stigwandish+%21%21%21++Also+they+are+working+on+the+Gray+water+system+%21%21%21%0d%0a
Camp+Stigwandish+has+declined+in+condition+over+the+past+few+years%2e+It+is+a+great+camp%2c+but+is+getting+to+the+point+where+it+needs+help+as+maintenance+has+fallen+to+next+to+nothing%2e%0d%0a
