Hiking trail on north side of Elk City Lake (almost 15 miles) is one of the most beautiful in Kansas. Limestone bluffs with steep drop offs, well forested, hilltop views of lake. No water sources on trail; water at campground by dam. Best hiked west to east but worth a weekend backpacking trip.
