Will+Rogers+is+the+primary+summer+camp+of+the+Cimarron+Council%2e++Located+just+about+40+miles+west+of+Tulsa%2c+it+offers+a+great+alternative+to+some+of+the+larger+camps%2e++All+of+the+food+is+preapred+on+site+and+home+made%2c+not+the+thaw%2c+heat+%26+serve+stuff+that+larger+camps+always+cook%2e+++It+is+also+one+of+the+very+few+Boy+Scout+camps+where+they+serve+family+style+and+they+always+have+plenty+of+leftovers%2e++The+food+is+always+one+of+the+top+rated+parts+of+camp%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aRather+than+put+a+bunch+of+inexperienced+15+year+old+reading+out+of+Merit+Badge+books%2c+they+have+their+Council+Vice+President+of+Program+who+personally+leads+the+First+Year+Camper+program%2c+making+it+one+of+the+finest+and+best+ran+parts+of+any+camp+I+have+seen%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+camp+fees+are+reasonable%2c+the+setting+more+laid+back+and+yet%2c+there+were+enough+Merit+Badges+and+special+offerings+to+keep+a+troop+there+with+plenty+to+do+for+3+%2d+4+summers%2e%0d%0a

So+many+positive+things+have+happened+at+WRSR+in+recent+months%2e++The+camp+cut+the+ribbon+on+the+new+Anderson+Family+Shower+house+%2d+a++modern+facility+with+seperate+restrooms+%26+hot+showers+%26+laundry+facilities+for+the+entire+camp%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+Camp+also+totally+renovated+the+Trading+Post%2c+with+lots+of+new+lower+prices+and+products+beyond+typical+supply+division+%2d+it+is+like+a+Camping+%26+Backpacking+Store%21++Just+this+past+week+%28April+2007%29+the+camp+broke+ground+on+a+new+Nature+Lodge%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+fees+are+quite+reasonable+and+the+camp+does+not+nickle+%26+dime+scouts+with+special+fees+for+classes+like+Shotgun+Shooting%2e++They+sell+Basket+Kits+to+campers+cheaper+than+other+scout+camps+can+purchase+Baskets+wholesale+from+Supply+Division%2e++Even+American+Red+Cross+C%2eP%2eR%2e+is+offered+to+Campers+at+no+extra+charge+%2d+and+they+leave+camp+with+the+card%21%0d%0a%0d%0aBesides+buildings%2c+there+has+been+even+more+positive+changes%2e++The+training+level+of+the+staff+is+unmatched%2e++They+are+one+of+the+very+few+Scout+Camps+in+America+to+send+ALL+Area+Directors+to+National+Camp+School%2c+including+the+Outdoor+Skills+%28ScoutCraft%29+and+Nature+%2f+Ecology+Directors%2e++They+also+have+THREE+National+Camp+School+Shooting+Sports+Directors+and+TWO+Climbing+Directors+on+site%2e++In+all+there+will+be+17+National+Camp+School+certified+staff+members+at+Camp+in+the+summer+of+2007%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0aAt+a+lot+of+camps+there+are+complaints+about+the+food%2c+but+not+at+Will+Rogers%21++The+entire+camp+sits+down+in+the+Dining+Hall+at+the+same+time+and+eats+family+style+with+real+home+cooked+meals%2c+and+plenty+of+food+for+extra+helpings%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAt+some+of+those+mega+camps+you+are+stuck+in+the+C+Shift+Feeding+Line+for+30+minutes+and+then+you+get+the+same+disgusting+institutional+thaw+%2d+heat+%26+serve+food+that+they+dish+out+at+Elementary+School+Cafeterias%2e++THIS+CAMP+IS+DIFFERENT%21%0d%0a%0d%0aThere+is+so+much+to+do+at+canp+each+week%21++This+camp+participates+in+the+NRA+National+Scout+Camp+Rifle+Competition%2c+there+are+Chess+Tournamnets%2c+Volleyball%2c+Scout+Mania+Trivia%2c+and+dozens+of+special+events+each+week%2e++Special+guests+and+extra+classes+like+Oklahoma+Certified+Hunter+Safety+are+also+available+each+week%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+camp+offers+more+than+40+Merit+Badges+%26+has+an+awesome+website+and+leader%27s+guide%2e++Visit+http%3a%2f%2fcimarronbsa%2eorg%2fCamping%2easp+%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+First+Year+Camper+Program+%28Maverick%29+is+first+rate%21++Fred+Spellman%2c+the+Vice+President+for+Program+for+the+Council+and+a+Top+Gun+Naval+Aviator+Fighter+Pilot+personally+directs+the+program%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+camp+has+a+great+Water+Skiing+program%2c+and+features+a+natural+rock+face+cliff+for+true+High+Adventure+Climbing+%2d+%22Cedar+Point%22%0d%0a%0d%0aWhy+bother+with+Tom+Hale+or+Slippery+Falls+when+Will+Rogers+has+the+best+trained+staff%2c+the+most+innovative+programs%2c+and+each+scout+is+treated+with+respect%2e++You+are+not+crammed+into+a+dining+hall+after+after+standing+in+long+lines+and+forced+to+eat+Sysco+mystery+meat+like+you+do+at+some+camps%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aOur+Order+of+the+Arrow+program+%26+Ceremonies+are+first+rate%2e++For+a+small+class+700+Council+we+sent+23+Arrowmen+to+the+last+NOAC+at+Michigan+State+%26+10+people+to+NLS+%2f+NLATS+in+the+past+12+months%2e++Compaire+that+to+the+much+larger+Last+Frontier+Council+%28Camp+Slippery+Falls%29%2c+a+council+five+times+our+size+%2d+they+could+only+manage+sending+seven+Arrowmen+to+NOAC+in+2006%2e++A+strong+OA+Lodge+is+a+sign+of+a+strong+camp%2e++%0d%0a%0d%0aA+full+week+at+Will+Rogers+has+about+200+campers+plus+the+staff+%26+leaders%2e++Overlooking+the+cliffs+above+the+Arkansas+River%2c+it+is+a+great+way+to+escape+the+Texas+heat%2c+or+just+come+back+to+what+Scout+Summer+Camping+should+be+all+about%2e++Come+and+experience+the+best+small+camp+in+America+that+is+doing+a+lot+of+Big+Camp+things%21++WILL+ROGERS+SCOUT+RESERVATION%21+%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a
