Hawk+Mountain+Scout+Reservation+is+a+nice+summer+camp%2e++They+have+a+variety+of+programs+ranging+from+a+pool%2c+to+a+lake+for+fishing%2c+canoeing%2c+kayaking%2c+rowing+and+sailing%2c+to+a+nature+lodge%2c+a+great+trading+post+and+a+newer+technology+center%2e%0d%0aThe+staff+is+always+very+friendly+and+helpful%2e++%0d%0aI+went+here+for+6+years+as+both+a+scout+and+a+leader+and+never+had+any+issues%2e++%0d%0aRecently+added+some+brand+new+Emotion+Kayaks%21%0d%0a

My+Troop+camped+at+Hawk+Mountain+Scout+reservation+for+Summer+Camp+in+2008%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAbout+all+I+can+say+about+this+camp+is+that+their+program+is+good%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aFrom+the+time+we+walked+into+camp%2c+things+were+messed+up%2e+We+made+arrangements+well+in+advace+and+planned+our+entire+program+for+the+previous+10+months+around+being+with+or+near+a+troop+from+our+district%2e+Everything+was+fine+leading+up+to+camp+as+we+checked+regularly+with+HM+Council+on+this%2e+But+when+we+arrived+at+camp+we+were+informed+we+would+not+be+with+our+friends%2e+Our+site+was+horrible+as+we+were+on+a+steep+incline+and+most+of+the+platforms+were+not+level%2e+I+actually+had+1+scout+fall+out+the+side+of+the+tent+and+an+adult+who+literally+slid+down+and+almost+out+the+front+of+his+tent%2e+There+was+no+where+in+our+site+where+we+could+set+up+a+camp+cahir+and+sit+without+falling%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aThere+was+a+pavillion+about+50+yards+further+up+the+steep+incline+but+we+only+ventured+up+there+once+or+twice+the+whole+week%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aThe+food+was+tasty+but+quantity+was+very+short%2e+Don%27t+expect+enough+to+eat%2e+Actually%2c+every+single+adult+and+scout+lost+weight%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0aVery+dissappointing%2e+%0d%0a

I+when+to+Hawk+Mountain+Scout+reservation+for+BSA+National+Camping+School+Training+which+was+ok+over+all%2e+but%2c+while+I+was+staying+there+for+the+training+some+of+the+trainers+werent+the+best+pick+to+teach+nature+area+training%2e+the+nature+trainers+believe+that+they+are+the+best+program+for+nature+training+but%2c+they+didn%27t+act+the+best+training+for+the+country%2e+I+feel+they+should+be+relook+at+has+teachers+for+the+trainning+for+nature+dirs%2e%2e+Next+to+the+trainers+for+nature+the+camp+was+ok%2e+I+did+feel+that+the+bathroom+near+the+swimming+pool+by+the+main+dinning+hall+needs+to+be+updated%2e+most+of+all+the+camp+sites+are+on+the+hill%2e+there+is+1+old+and+1+new+dinning+halls%2c+1+lake%2c+2+new+pools%2c+computers+room+and+planetarium+lodge+which+was+good%2e+there+is+two+camps+one+for+cub+scouts+and+the+other+boy+scouts%2c+this+camp+is+a+big+camp%2c+if+you+like+alot+of+people+this+is+the+place%2e+I+did+pass+the+nature+training+but+those+trainers+need+to+be+relook+at+by+national%2e+that+is+it%2e%0d%0a%28Webmaster+Note%29+%2d+The+above+comments+are+mainly+about+National+Camp+School+Training%2c+which+is+held+at+different+camps+in+the+region+each+year%2e++The+Hawk+Mountain+Council+does+not+select+the+instructors+for+each+section%2c+that+would+be+the+responibiliy+of+Northeast+Region%2e
