An annual destination for Troop 79 (Novato, CA). Private campground just outside the monument. A great place for a challenging and beautiful day hike. Also has caves.

Troop 263 (Half Mooon Bay, CA) has our annual Troop/Pack outing at the Pinnacles. Great place for new scouts, lots of room and camp staff very accomadating.

We+have+taken+our+Cub+Scouts%2c+all+the+way+down+to+Tigers+to+the+Pinnacles+for+hiking%2e++The+Balconies+trail+loop+is+about+6+miles+if+you+are+hiking+from+the+East+side%2e+Spring+is+probably+the+best+time+to+hike%2c+the+wildflowers+are+very+showy+and+currently+%282002%29+the+website+through+NPS+does+have+an+update+as+to+what+is+in+bloom%2e++I+found+the+botanist+that+is+posting+the+information+to+be+very+nice%2e%0d%0a++Make+sure+to+carry+plenty+of+water%2c+especially+as+the+days+heat+up%2e++We+didn%27t++have+any+problems+with+our+Scouts+this+spring%2c+but+last+year+we+took+Cubs+and+their+families+and+had+some+people+who+didn%27t+believe+us+when+we+said+that+they+needed+to+carry+water%2e++This+is+definitely+a+place+to+Be+Prepared%2e+Also+this+can+be+a+very+popular+location+in+the+Spring%2e++When+we+returned+from+our+hike+in+March+we+found+that+access+to+the+trails+was+being+limited+due+to+the+number+of+people+in+the+area%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aKatie+Squire+++Pack+10%2c+Troop+1+Coalinga%0d%0a
