This+beautiful+and+historic+log+cabin+was+originally+constructed+as+a+Boy+Scout+camp+in+1935+by+unemployed+island+residents+through+Franklin+D%2e+Roosevelt%92s+Works+Progress+Administration%2e+Built+of+mostly+local+materials%2c+the+cabin+served+as+a+scout+camp+for+generations+of+Bainbridge+Islanders%2e+In+1942+the+camp+was+used+as+the+US+Army+202nd+Coast+Artillery%92s+Bainbridge+Island+headquarters%2e+At+that+time+a+bathhouse+was+constructed+where+the+Camp+Yeomalt+Classroom+stands+today%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aBainbridge+Island+volunteers+and+the+Bainbridge+Island+Metro+Park+and+Recreation+District%2c+who+worked+to+preserve+this+historic+structure%2e+Because+of+their+efforts%2c+Camp+Yeomalt+cabin+is+again+being+used+for+youth+camping+and+scouting+activities%2c+as+well+as+community+performances%2c+classes%2c+and+educational+heritage%2e%0d%0a
