Our+Troop+has+gone+out+of+our+council+for+four+years+to+Ockanickon%2e++It+is+an+excellent+resource%2c+especially+for+younger+scouts+as+their+Dan+Beard+program+is+high+quality%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aWe+may+split+our+troop+next+year%2c+to+allow+our+older+scouts+a+new+camp+experience%2c+but+plan+to+allow+a+week+for+the+younger+scouts+and+our+%22two%2dweekers%22+to+participate+at+OSR%0d%0a%0d%0a

Just+finished+a+week+at+Camp+Ockanickon+%28out+of+National+Capitol+Area+Council%29%2e++Tried+based+on+recommendations+by+other+scouters%2e++WOW%21++Great+food+%28air%2dconditioned+dining+hall%29%2c+stellar+staff%2c+great+organization%2c+and+a+lot+of+fun%2e++Focus+on+building+patrols+is+a+real+plus%2e++Will+be+hard+to+persuade+scouts+to+try+anywhere+else+next+year%2e%0d%0a

Ockanickon+has+the+first+scout+Science+%28and+Technology%29+Center+in+the+country+offering+eight+hard+to+find+merit+badges%2e++Combined+with+a+great+staff+in+all+program+areas+and+professionally+prepared+food+in+an+air%2dconditioned+dining+hall+makes+OSR+hard+to+beat%2e%0d%0a

The+camp+has+excellent+facillites%2c+the+boat+front%2c+shooting+sports%2c+and+COPE+leaves+a+bit+to+be+desired%2e++The+camp+is+very+merit+badge+oriented+almost+to+the+point+of+being+a+merit+badge+factory%2e++The+camp+changes+requirments+and+gives+badges+for+handing+in+a+blue+card%2e++%0d%0a

Our+Troop+stayed+week+2+at+Ockanickon+this+year%2e+I+would+like+to+say+what+a+great+time+we+had%2e+The+staff+was+the+best%2c+the+food+was+wonderful%2e+Thier+Dan+Beard+program+is+one+of+the+best+around%2e+Keep+up+the+great+work%2c+I+can%27t+wait+to+go+back%2e%0d%0a

Our+troop+has+been+to+Ockanickon+for+summer+camp+for+the+past+several+years%2c+the+boys+like+it+but+we+have+noticed+a+steady+decline+over+the+past+few+years+%2e%2e%2e+they+are+getting+very+crowded%2c+the+quality+of+equipment+in+some+areas+leaves+lots+to+be+desired%2e+We+were+ESPECIALLY+disappointed+that+the+scouts+get+merit+badges+for+not+doing+anything%2e+We+are+looking+at+other+camps+for+2008%2e%0d%0a

Very+well+organized+camp+with+excellent+staff+and+outstanding+programs%2e++Yes%2c+it+can+get+crowded+but+they+know+how+to+handle+it%2e++You+also+have+to+ask+yourself+why+most+weeks+are+sold+old+and+few+camps+offer+8+full+weeks+of+camping+%2d+it%27s+because+troops+keep+coming+back+year+after+year%2e%0d%0a

The+camp+is+truly+beautiful+with+all+of+its+nature+and+historic+background%2e+I+can+not+wait+to+go+back%2c+as+this+year+I+will+serve+on+staff+with+them%2e+One+week+was+not+enough%21%0d%0a

Just+camped+there%2e++Food+was+absolutely+outstanding%2e++They+use+Aramark+as+an+outside+contractor+and+apparently+pay+big+bucks+for+it%2e++Even+has+a+professional+baker+comes+in+from+11pm+to+6am+each+day%2e++First+time+leaders+did+not+drive+outside+of+a+camp+once+to+have+a+%22real%22+meal%2e%0d%0a
