The+Midland+Railroad+is+an+historical+railroad+in+NE+Kansas+in+Baldwin+City%2e+In+the+past%2c+they+have+hosted+Boy+Scout+Troops+that+are+working+on+their+Railroading+Merit+Badge%2e+Troops+can+come+on+selected+weekends+and+complete+their+Merit+Badge+requirements+while+working+on+the+railroad%2e+For+their+overnight+stay%2c+Scouts+can+either+sleep+in+boxcars+converted+into+sleeping+quarters+or+camp+in+an+area+just+across+the+tracks+from+the+boxcars%2e+This+activity+is+only+offered+a+few+times+a+year+and+fill+up+fast%2e+Interested+Troops+need+to+plan+in+advance%2c+maybe+as+far+as+12%2d18+months+to+get+one+of+the+slots%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a
I+have+found+out+that+planning+in+advance+does+not+help+as+those+running+the+Scout+overnights+usually+do+not+decide+their+fall+dates+until+about+4%2f5+months+before%2e+This+is+too+late+for+our+troop+as+we+do+our+annual+campout+planning+meeting+in+late+September+or+October+for+the+following+year%2e+For+troops+that+do+not+plan+so+far+out+in+advance%2c+this+could+be+an+option%2e%0d%0a
