Log+Landing+Boy+Scout+Camp+is+situated+on+the+banks+of+the+Ebenezer+Creek+in+the+heart+of+Effingham+county%2e+It+has+belonged+to+the+Boy+Scouts+of+Effingham+County+since+1944+and+is+believed+to+be+the+oldest+Scout+Camp+in+Georgia%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0aMission%0d%0aTo+provide+a+location+for+Scouts+to+experience+the+great+outdoors+in+a+safe%2c+friendly+environment+and+to+be+responsible+landowners%2c+always+leaving+the+site+better+than+found%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aDescription%0d%0aThe+camp+location+is+ideal+for+fishing%2c+canoeing+or+kayaking+on+the+Ebenezer+Creek%2c+as+well+as+many+other+Scouting+activities+%2dThe+camp+is+a+%22primitive%22+site%2c+meaning+there+is+no+electricity+%2c+modern+bathrooms+and+the+well+near+the+pole+barn+is+a+manual+farm+pitcher+pump%2e+Over+recent+years+until+2012+it+had+not+been+used+so+much%3b+becoming+overgrown+and+falling+into+some+disrepair%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a+Log+Landing+Scout+Camp+will+create+memories+in+the+hearts+of+our+boys%21+Many+of+the+adults+in+the+region+have+fond+memories+and+tales+of+time+spent+camping+here+and+it%27s+time+for+a+new+lease+of+life%2e+Its+pristine+lands+and+location+lends+to+the+rich+history+already+surrounding+it+like+the+original+village+of+Ebenezer+just+across+the+creek+from+the+camp+where+the+tombstones+of+many+a+Salzberger+can+still+be+seen+today%2e%0d%0a%0d%0a+The+site+was+purchased+by+the+Boy+Scouts+of+Effingham+back+in+1944+and+is+held+in+trust+by+the+Springfield+Masonic+Lodge+%23440%2e+The+location+has+seen+many+an+adventure%2c+not+just+from+the+Boy+Scouts+%2d+it+even+has+history+linked+with+the+civil+war%21+The+camp+served+as+a+picnic+area+after+that+war+where+those+veterans+would+speak+about+%22that+recent+unpleasantness%2e%22+The+camp+now+is+the+subject+of+wood+badge+tickets+so+it+can+be+rejuvenated+and+put+to+good+use+once+more%2e%0d%0a
