The+Heart+of+America+Council%92s+Rotary+Scout+Camp+offers+a+long+term+Scout+camp+experience+to+Boy+Scouts+with+special+needs+who+otherwise+would+not+be+able+to+participate+in+a+traditional+long%2dterm+camp%2e+This+camp+is+designed+to+help+special+needs+Scouts+with+their+advancement+in+Scouting%2e+The+camp+uses+the+Scouting+merit+badge+program+and+other+activities+to+reach+this+objective%2e+%0d%0a%0d%0a%0d%0a

I+have+camped+at+the+Rotary+Camp+site+3+times+over+the+last+several+years%2e+My+first+time+as+part+of+DOE+training+for+Cub+Scouts%2c+I+stayed+in+the+cabins%2e+For+me+that+is+not+really+camping%2c+but+the+weather+was+a+little+nasty+so+I+didn%27t+mind+that+much%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAbout+6+months+later%2c+I+returned+to+go+through+my+OWL+training+as+I+was+getting+ready+to+become+a+Webelos+1+Den+Leader%2e+This+time%2c+I+had+to+sleep+in+my+own+tent%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aAbout+a+year+ago%2c+I+returned+as+a+Staffer+for+the+council+and+served+as+one+of+the+Webelos+%22Den+Leaders%2e%22+This+time+the+weather+was+clear%2c+but+we+had+some+frost+on+the+ground+when+we+woke+up+in+our+tents+on+Saturday+morning%2e%0d%0a%0d%0aThere+is+a+big+dining+hall+available+along+with+several+other+smaller+buildings+%28health+lodge%2c+etc%29+besides+the+cabins+themselves%2e+It+is+on+a+lake+and+there+are+a+couple+of+fire+pits%2e+There+is+space+for+Troops+to+pitch+tents+in+a+couple+of+different+places%2e+While+not+large%2c+the+Rotary+Camp+would+work+out+ok+for+a+smaller+size+troop+for+a+weekend+campout%2e%0d%0a
